  1. you hang in there. People can be so rude and inconsiderate My mother was a kindergarten teacher for 37 years. She wasn't one to mince words or sugar coat things, well anyway,, when kids shoes are too small (feet uncomfortable) they lose ability to focus. Attention span goes down bad behavior goes up etc... When she took their shoes off problems disappeared. the first time around She would put their shoes in a bag with a very nice note, explaining the situation and asking them to call her. If they called she would work something out even if she had purchased shoes herself. If they didn't call back or continued to send child to school in too of small shoes she would keep each pair until they either showed up in bigger shoes or called her back. Some of them called to turn her in but even the principal & school board didn't want to mess with my mom about the shoe thing.
  2. I'm a LTC/Sub-Acute LVN Working for a nursing registry. I hate being new or doing a run that Ive never done because I don't know WHO anybody is or what they take when so I fall woe-fully behind because I am terrified I will make a mistake. You would think that people would understand. But NO I walk into an environment or residents, cna's, Nurses etc... that have no problem telling you to your face we don't like registry here you guys never know what your doing. So then I'm supposed to swallow that down like nothing. I still need to ask questions like who certain people are where they are where to find things that are not findable on the cart. I have to fight and claw to get a computer ID & PW so I can chart and pass meds with E-MAR. Then Ive never had no training or help with this. I am teaching myself but i WASTE SO MUCH VALUEABLE TIME WITH THIS that I don't finish on time. Or I stay over to finish the job. BUT this is considered wierd so they have called my company. I don't like leaving loose ends. What am I doing wrong??? What can I do as a Registry nurse to get better?? I need some good tips from a successful registry nurse
  3. Well Im trying to press the Like button but the site said unlike when I did. Good for you I haven't read a "I made a mistake and learned from it too!! statement in a long time . I cant believe how many Perfect nurses there are in this world today. Nobody who's ever made a med error, fallen wowfully behind on a med pass, when someone is c/o not feeling well and not responding with PRN fast enough (usually based on somebodyelse's opinion of the need for the PRN) etcc..
  4. I pushed the Like? button and "Unlike" appeared I do like this topic. I don't think a nurses ability "be a nurse" you know - like providing and promoting the care & healing for others while maintaining a certain set of standards & working within the boundrys and mandated parameters that are set forth on nurses it is remarkible that they are able to remain themselves or develope a style of their own at all. "No. Im sure of it", A nurses personal eating habits, body type, hair style, the kind of car they drive, the genes they have inherited from family should have nothing to do with it,!!.
