Hi, if you wish to take the nclex exam, you need to decide first on which state you wish to apply. Then, you go to the board of nursing website for that specific state to know their requirements regarding licensing. For California, for example, open http://www.rn.ca.gov. There you will find the requirements and steps to applying for a license in California. After that, you will download their forms (1 type for you and 1 for your school) for the Authority to Test. You will need to ask also (by email) for the fingerprint form which they will send by mail. You will send the forms (the school will accomplish and send theirs independently) back with your payment and the fingerprint form together with your payment to the board of nursing of that state. After this, wait for your approved authority to test. After your approved authority to test, you can now pay and schedule your nclex exam with a third party company whose website is: http://www.pearsonvue.com. I hope you will succeed. One final advice: if you wish to go to the US as fast as you can, read the other threads in allnurses.com that suggests states such as New Mexico where the processing is faster than in California.

hi Suzanne, I took my California NCLEX in Hongkong last Feb 2. It's now April 9 and yet I have not received the results. What's the usual duration? For the others: I suggest you listen to the words of wisdom from Suzanne. I waited for 5 months to get my ATT from the BON of California. I should have applied for New Mexico.

Hi Ash, please let us know when you receive your NCLEX results. I've been waiting for mine since I took the exam on Feb 2. It's now April 9 and the result is not yet with me. The downside is I'm staying in the Philippines. Just imagine my agony...
