  1. I've talked to a few former students that now work at some great hospitals - they mentioned the school having some issues with administration (every school does) but overall, really liked the education and clinical experience. I'm excited for fall!
  2. I'm about to give up my seat for the fall hybrid...going with another program in the city. Hope someone here lands the spot!
  3. That's awesome! What are your thoughts on the Presence system? I was admitted last week and plan to attend but moving from out of state - don't know much about it haha. Congrats, sounds like you got in as well?
  4. I was accepted a few days ago into the Hybrid Program for Fall18. Still debating, as I'd be relocating from out of state and was really hoping to live close to city center...not sure that I want to make the 50min drive into Downers Grove when needed. That being said, Loyola is such a great name to have on your resume vs lesser known ABSN programs in city center. Anyone else on the fence with the hybrid?
  5. Hello! Didn't see a ResU page for Fall 2018 applicants so here it is. Any other students out there applying in as 2nd-degree bachelors? It seems their administration can be a bit slow but submitted my app a month ago and waiting on a transcript to post that was mailed in. Hoping to get in - great location for sure.
  6. curious, where do you think you'd live for the program? as in town or area?
  7. Just requested to switch over to hybrid. I don't want to delay starting this new career any longer and I do well with recorded lectures at my own pace anyway - if there is a student out there that has gone through Loyola Hybrid, please let us know how your experience went!
  8. Sup everyone - I applied to the program a little over a week ago (still waiting on one last LOR to complete) but was told by my advisor that there is now a waitlist for the on-site ABSN I would still consider the hybrid program (no waitlist there) but definitely bummed to hear that. Thought I should share that info!
  9. if you're located near a major city or are willing to move, apply to 3-4 programs, you'll get in. im only saying this becuase my gpa was same as yours, i aced prereqs, and had solid health care experience. i wrote an honest essay and awknowledged my performance in undergrad, how i've changed since, and was accepted to all 3 programs i applied for. good luck! be confident, you clearly are passionate about this, not easy to volunteer for a year and work and school.
  10. Hey - just apply to some accelerated BSN programs in your area and I'm sure you'll get in. A 3.3 is certainly within range for an ABSN, and you probably have some prereq's left to take before you can apply so just make sure to ace those. you'll be fine, plus it sounds like you're already getting some healthcare experience in to boost your app. Good luck!
  11. I believe the group won't come up in a search until you have 10 members - I couldn't find it either! Please add me as well. Thanks!
  12. I currently live in Jamaica Plain (JP), great neighborhood and only a 20min drive into the Milton campus. I would say a car is needed if you plan to live close to the city, Milton is a ways off and would take over an hour on public transportation into the suburbs. From what I gather, most clinicals are in downtown Boston which is nice, wouldn't need a car to get to those. I'm planning to stay in JP or potentially Roslindale. Keep us posted about the facebook group! Thanks
  13. I do, about an hour drive away.
  14. I'm in! Letter arrived today
  15. Yup, sounds like we should be hearing back this week! Good luck everyone
  16. yeah seems like a great service to get classes done. and Curry does accept their credits!
  17. I still have to take Microbio, Stats, and Human G&D. Overall gpa 3.3, with 4.0 for 3 prereqs (AP1/2, Chem). Doing my remaining prereqs on Portage Learning, anyone else use them? Crossing my fingers for Curry, it's the only school I'm applying to!
  18. The Curry app is completed through NursingCAS and they require you send official transcripts directly from each school before (you can't mail it in yourself). These have to be submitted before deadline, yes.
  19. Hey everyone - excited to finish up my application and love that we get to find out so soon about acceptance (July 1st!). Curry sounds like an awesome school and pretty decent price tag compared to the other Boston-area heavy hitters. Still need to take Microbio, Stats, and Dev. Psych this summer/fall ughhhh thank goodness for Portage Learning, ha.
  20. Hoping to hear from other students that are applying or have applied to Curry's ACCEL accelerated BSN program - the application deadline is coming up soon!
  21. Hey @magoober thanks, these are helpful numbers to have. I'm definitely a bit worried about accepting the admissions offer because of these numbers. Has anyone else looked into plans for paying? I'm coming from out of state so rent + all other expenses have to be factored in.
  22. Thanks everyone! Anesthetist - it's the same link as the one used to check for missing documents. https://banweb.concordia-ny.edu/pls/ccny/byapplst.P_AdmInputForm
  23. Admitted! The online portal just updated for me...interviewed 2/27, accepted online 3/21. Woo hoo!
  24. congrats! did they notify you by snail mail?
