  1. I'm taking the NCLEX-RN Wednesday and I've just used uworld to study.
  2. Thanks! I've done really good in school never failed a test studied as I was told to made a 1019 on the exit hesi. It's just the rep that came from the review service scared me to death.lol
  3. Hi all! Whom has passed the nclex the first time just using uworld? I graduate the 9th and I cannot afford the hurst review and have decided to purchase u world for one month. Thanks in advance!
  4. Thank you for putting that in an understandable format! :)
  5. Hi all! I've read the long not user friendly definitions about these two in my book. However could someone please put in layman terms what the difference between clinical pathway and clinical practice guidelines is?
  6. Thanks! I know for sure if I don't make a 900 on the HESI I'll have to take it. I made an 887 last time í ½í¸
  7. I'm graduating in December. Hurst came yesterday and to be honest I don't have the 400 bucks to pay for their review or do their payment plan. I'm leaning towards uworld solely. Thoughts please?

So I graduate in 86 days and was wondering what the season nurses recommended as far as jobs that I should look for. Should I go for med surg, etc? What's the best area for a new grad?
  9. Lol I probably did and thanks for clearing that up
  10. Hey folks! I'm reaching far into my brain and if I remember correctly bicarbonate is secrets by the kidneys which helps buffer the amount of k that is excreted. Anyhow my theory is for the compensatory stage of shock and decrease in uop that is why the k levels are elevated because of the metabolic acidosis from the bicarbonate. Am I on the right track? Thanks in advance!
  11. I'm in the fourth semester and I love it! I did horrible in math throughout school even high school. I dreaded math at the college level. Yes I had to do remediation but heck I was 30yrs old and starting college so that's understandable. I made A's in my college level math. I took finite which allows you to graduate with your associates degree. I thought I would struggle but I studied all that I could and even utilized the math tutor. I bought a book cliff notes basic math and algebra and it seemed to help me study for the math for the compass test. Once in the program you'll do basic drug dose calculations and there is even an additional class you can take to help with that.
  12. They only look at the biology grades ap 1&2. I wouldn't sweat the prob and stats. The math is basic algebra in the nursing program. I know this post is old but good luck and congrats if you're already in the program!
  13. Just curious about something. From what I have read in my med surg book plus thinking of all the ways that a HIV/AIDS patient can become debilitated, are they at risk for anemia? My nursing instincts says yes because their bodies are already stressed to the max plus they may have kidney diseases etc. I didn't see anything in the med surg book about kidney disease but I did see that they have oxygenation problems plus they are at risk for sepsis. Thanks in advance 😬
