I am not looking for pettiness, but actual advice. Do not want to be harsh been there done that. I know how this goes people will hate on you because of there failures or shed discouragement because of resentment. HESI SCORES: Reading comprenshion Grammer Vocabulary 78% Anatomy and physiology 96% Math 84% Overall: 83.4 Gpa: Overall :3.4 Nursing: 3.6 Science: 4.0 I applied to 2 programs so far one denied me. They had about 1000 applicants and only accept 120 students per semester. I have already used my two attempts for the HESI the scores above were a complete exam the second attempt i tested to improve one score and take a new section. Reading comprehenion 74% Critical thinking 810 I want to work with what I have. Thats all I can do or take the TEAS and see my luck. So any advice on the TEAS is apprecaited or reaources and study material. I have an associates of arts my track was a BSN i have been waiting about a year for this response I got a NO. So I do not know if it would be worth to re apply with the number of applicants. Has anyone got denied and accepted on a re try? I would love to excel my education as a nurse, but the chance may not be there and its not even that I am not competetive enough, but just not granted the chance. Anyone can relate or share experiences? What can I do now to stand out. I want to make something and use of my current associates and make use of my time. Is it worth to wait it can be either or so I need suggestions. (Invest more money and time) in an unknowing outcome For those who gave up nursing what alternative was there for someone with an associated with nursing pre reqs I want to be able to apply my prior courses to a bachelors degree. Some of my classes will begin to expire next fall need suggestions. For the past year ,and years to come the demand in nursing has and will increase significantly. This means that many who are actually pursing an education or taking exams to get into a nursing program will not become nurses or pursue nursing as a career. Of course unless they take alternate options as testing for a different exam or starting in a low level entry program, retake courses for gpa improvement, and last, but not least looking to apply to programs outside of their home state. Particularly, the reason I am posting this is because it has been an exhausting, frustrating journey. Although, I will say it has been a learning experience. So perhaps some of you who are going to read this or have been or are in my place will find it helpful if at all. First thing is first no one in nursing particularly is your friend. It is all competition, Some will be helpful and give you proper guidnace. While, others will most likely lie to you or avoid you in order to avoid sharing resources, or information. In the field you may find people to be more conserved and preserved more like in groups or cliques. If your on the outer circle your most likely on your own. I have posted a few post and perhaps you can tell by the frequency or repetitive post the anguish and need for information and guidance from superiors who got the opportunity or are on their way to become "true nurse health proffesionals". Growing up, I knew that my content was in helping others ,and eagerness. So fulfilling and the closest thing to satisfying that I found was nursing. Throughout the course of my education it has been difficult sleepless nights, torment, tierness etc. All because I was working real hard to pursue my goal, career and dream. Dreams dont come true. I do not want to be discouraging, but realistic. You never know what your going to get. I got through a degree with pre reqs to transfer out to a BSN program. I thought my options wayed out because i took the long route. WRONG! Yeah despite the fact that I went through a full degree an associates in particular I would not be granted priority nor admissions regardless of the true purpose behind taking all these core" classes. For those who may read this and have nursing in mind my suggestion is to look into alternative careers, have a back up plan and do your research. I will list a few sources that I have knowledge of to getting into nursing: -CNA/ MEDICAL ASSISTANT: from here you can work your way into a LVN bridge program or apply to an LVN/LPN program, Or LVN TO RN(ADN) -VOLUNTEER: find ways to stay involved in a medical environment. This way you can interact, network, socialize and perhaps find a opportunity into a hospital system( EMPLOYMENT). -EDUCATIONAL HOSPITALS: believe it or not if you work in a hopsital chances are you may be able to work your way up and get paid to go into a nursing program. NURSING SCHOOLS: here is the info I can share when it comes to nursing programs. -ASSOCIATES OF APPLIED SCIENCE/ ASSOCIATES OF NURSING(most common) really think about this you can actually go for any degree as long as you are fullfilling the requirments for the program you are interested in. If you know that nursing is what you want to do the rest of your life and you dont know where to start an ADN is the answer it is an associates that allows you to register for the NCLEX , which will earn you a nursing license= official nurse. The course is 2 years like any other associates the difference is that if you go for anything other than an ADN you most likely are going the BSN route= Not a nurse, no license. Yet, this option will give you a more variety of careers options other than nursing itself. Choose wisely, also I want to share going for an ADN you will not be tested for admissions as for a student with a regular associates going into a BSN program. So its cutting half of the process for you. If you can get into an ADN program the toughest part is over. ADN TO BSN: completing an ADN and passing the NCLEX you are a nurse with an associates degree , but you have not only a profession but most likely a job and career. Now in days higher eduaction is required for better opportunity so many will transition to a BSN. KEEP IN MIND: if your awarded an ADN and passed the NCLEX it is simpler to apply to a BSN program because you will get priority. Many community colleges have affiliations with universities. Also you will not be required to test for the HESI or TEAS nor will you be taking the NCLEX. ASSOCIATES DEGREE "HEAD ON HEAD" ***VS*** LVN's , RN's, SECOND DEGREE MAJORS So here lies the competition for those with only an associates with pre reqs your going against admissions with people that have a higher eduaction , or already some sort of health profession. In this case look at the programs the requirements, qualifications etc. Do not be discouraged, but other may get priority over you. It all depends on the school and admissions process. Oh yeah, you will also be required to take an entry assesment and the NCLEX. If you get in because your basically working towards a nursing license and bachelors. ****DIDNT MAKE IT?*** If you dont get in dont sweat it. Actually there are hundreds of candidates who have the ability to get into a program, but due to the limitation of student acceptances even 4.0's or high entry exam scores get turned away. WHAT DO I DO NOW? For anyone who didnt get into nursing school you can re apply and pray that youll win that lottery raffle, or make use of your time and pursue another profession. Remeber schools usually have the most I have heard is 500 or less for community college ADN's and 1000 for BSN programs most accept 150 below to at least 50 per semster. Keep in mind that applying for admissioms is invested time as you have to wait. EITHER WAY its goes it can be good or bad although its easier to fail at pursing nursing with attempts of an ADN its the most revealing scenario because you either make it or dont and will know if its for you or not compared to working through a regular ASSOCIATES and having to go through the hassles of a BSN program and never knowing the outcome. CHECK: with your program pre reqs usually have an expiration term. ENTRY ASSESSMENT: some schools require the TEAS OR HESI these exams are made to test the applicants ability to make it through the program. It consist of different areas and sections so check with all the programs your interest with to see what test will be more relevant to you. By this I mean if you can test one time and complete the sections for the HESI/TEAS in one sitting you can use those scores and apply them to multiple programs. You will not need to retest I suggest this because most schools require the exam in one sitting. It doesnt even matter if you took more sections for a school they will ignore those scores and take the ones that are required for their program. POLICY: check the policy number BSN programs differ with ADN as far as how many chances and overall limits you can retest it is usually two within a "life time." Some schools use different equivalent factors for admissions instead of exams an example is an essay instead of the exam. Check with your program. STUDY MATERIAL FOR HESI:*** Dont sweat it the fear that lurks is the admissions desicion. -QUIZLET -HESI A2 APP -YOUTUBE -ANATOMY GMC -CRASH COURSE -CLIFF NOTES -OLD CLASS NOTES -CRAM APP -TEST GUIDE -EL SEIVER HESI BOOK I used these and made an overall 83.00. I could of done better, but was to confident with reading comprehension. Regardless of how comfortable you are study and practice. The sources help 100% I promise. TEAS Never taken it but I hear you can purchase study packets on ATI TESTING DONT GIVE UP: If you heart, focus, willingness, and dedication are here keep pushing re apply look into other schools. If you fail the HESI within your attempts try to TEAS its another opportunity. I hope this helps someone. That was real deep... With time I know it is something I will have to do its just scary when everything is new and thrown at you... I know I am on my own and I am growing every other day every other day will be a lesson and I do ask many questions because I want to be prepared.... Its scary to face things on your own but sometimes thats your only choice... I try to to become to persistent with questions because I know repetition is overwhelming. Yet, everyone experiences life in there own unique way. For some its easier than others. Some just fit right in while others continue to find them selves. Personally I feel it doesnt hurt to try but it does hurt to fail and I am sure it is the same for everyone. I truly enjoyed your response it was very deep. I cannot imagine what you have been through. I am glad you have acomplished so much and are such a strong solid person.

Other than being in a true struggle making it through nursing school. What other struggles did you face outside of school or prior to enrollment/admissions? Prior to enrollment/admissions: Were you prepared for the transition and changes/challenges? Was the process new to you and did you find your self constantly asking questions or seeking reassurance? When looking for answers or asking questions did you feel as if you were giving a cold shoulder or belittled? How did you overcome any diffculities within time? Emotionally/ Mentally **** Answer however it comes of when it is read. All experiences or any are immensley worthy.

What other careers are there outside from the nursing career? Careers that require the same pre requistites before admissions to a nursing program. Professions that are as rewarding and giving to society. Any and all information is appreciated. I am only intending to explore my options. I realize if the opportunity does not come for me in nursing. I am at ease and peace with my self only when helping or giving to others. At the moment its difficult for me to accomplish more then just giving advice because I cannot afford to help my self. By these mean I like helping others with financial issues and emotional. I am open to hearing of any careers that branch out with my current studies and where I can also benefit and grow big within the industry. Has anyone applied to either an LVN or ADN program at HCC. I am aware of the pre reqs etc. As far as for those who have been accpeted or are former graduates from either the lvn or adn program. How would you classify their program? For LVNs to ADN : is the reading comprehnsion and math different in the TEAS then in the Hesi? If anyone has had to retest for the Hesi A2 to improve scores and did. How did you prepare? How significantly did your scores improve? *** any good pointers to improve in reading comprhension would help ! Thanks

It will appear immediatley after you finish. You can ask them to print it for you. If you used the school code it should be sent to them. If you are trying to send it to another school it may be available to you as soon as the same day through your account but typically takes 24 to 72 hours. I believe that is only through buisness hours and days so it may not include weekends.

This is probly not a fresh post. My sister is actually going through the same. I understand what you are going through not personally,but because my sister also was attempting to pursue a nursing degree. It is difficult to go through all the content when you have other dependents. Especially if you are a single mother or do not have the financially stablility. Basically, whatever it is that us actually causing the tension and lack of motivation or progression through your attempt to pursue this career. For those who do not have kids would not understand as my self ,but having a relative close relationship to someone who is experiencing the same situation as you I can hardly imagine what it is like. Anything is possible ,but at its given time. Some times we are not at the right place at the right time. Perhaps it may not even be that. It may just be the confrontations of life and the attempts we seek out we may fail ,but maybe because there is a different plan for you. Do not be discouraged by others because it is about you and what you can do. As my father says, no one else will care for you or what you do or think you have to have self discipline. People will tell you whatever they have to say and the worst thing one can do is judge without knowing the circumstances. Personally you do have to recognize the sacrifices that come along with pursuing something greater. Even so keep your head held high it may not hurt to try but it does hurt to fail but that does not mean you have to diminish that motivation. There will be a door some sort of opportunity to something else that you may find more reasonable or comfortable. You also have to do your part and search I wish you the best of luck really think through what you are doing time doesnt wait. I am sure that you are looking for advancment in the work force. Time does not wait be and choose wisely.

I guess I can personally relate to how your feeling. Its not an easy career and at this point I feel you can always try ,but be realistic and look for a back up plan. You do not want to fall back waiting for something that may not happen or be for you. I feel a lot of pressure I did recieve my AA and am ready to transfer to a BSN program. I feel the lack of information is a major disadvantage for potential students with outstanding academic achievements. Many will probly tell you to keep applying I dont really think people care once they are in and have over come the whole experienece. You have to think about where you now and what is your current situation. Only you will understand your personal situation. Either it is financially , personally or emotionally. A way you can start is attempting to talk to an advsior, but even so if nursing is something that you still want and someting you are still willing to invest in keep in mind there is no guarentee of a seat. Just keep in mind that many schools are changing their requirements such as: pre reqs, admissions exams,( adding subtracting sections) etc. You may want to look at deadlines because that will also put you behind and you may want to look into pre req expiration periods. All schools have different requirements I am not sure where you are ,but choose 3 or more schools of your choice look at the admissions requirements and pre reqs and get with an advisor to be well assured. I do not want to seem as if I am encouraging you not to strive for your goals. I can only imagine what it has been like or feels like because I been there I am there. I have no problem with people wanting to surpass there dreams and capabilities through these challenges. Approachimg life changing experieneces unknowing and being misinformed. Time is valuable ,but life is that way. We have to take it as it comes stay strong and remeber the world is not all nursing. It seems that most are called only through the growth in employment not through the actual responsibility and it may be the same for other careers. Due to these reasons it is becoming and has become challenging. Keep in mind your competing with LVNs RNs and second major students if your seeking a BSN. Well atleast depending ,but BSN is usually not only pre nursing students. As i previously mentioned based of your current sitiation seek out what is best for you dont beat your self so much. Also, check if you can gain some type of employment with your degree. It sucks to have gone through an eduaction and gained a degree with no possibility of finding a stable job to even get on your feet and help your self or family. My best wishes to you.

For a while I have been seeking high and low for answers ,and have had many questions. I am not sure If I have just found myself in the wrong place at the wrong time or have I been mislead or misguided. I know where I have been tying to get , but did not know where to start or How to get there. I feel there are so many superiors to me. Why I wanted to pursue nursing? was not because 99.9 people wanted the same. At that time I was in high school. I was really eager for a career in veteranary medicine,but due to the lack of guidance I fell back on something were I could put my self and still be me. At the time, nursing was not commonly heard of. At least I did not hear of it around every corner. Going into college it changed throughout the course of my studies. Nursing became a common word in every class, course pre req etc. Even throughout my personal life people outside of school. I found myself at the peak of school to transfer. I guess at the time all i knew was I would be graduating with my pre reqs ,but was not aware or prepared what to do next, Which sounds ridiculous ,but being new and facing these challenges on your own things can become insanley ridiculous. Perhaps a simple application or exam or clear instruction ,which can seem overwhelming. This career attempt has been the hardest thing I have ever done. I cannot think of anything more difficult or maybe it just became harder with the increase in demand. One thing I have learned to manage is the frustration to those who have made it through without prior knowledge, compassion for the career and just doing it for the money and employment. I understand many who get through get there fairly ,but to were I am now I beg to differ. I do not feel everyone gets through fairly. I am not saying this because I may not percieve my dream or vision as a potential health care proffesional. I do not feel a paper or exam can determine someones capablility. Then we have so many rude nurses who get through or even people who earn their way through a system or through referneces. I do not have none of that. It has been a year what have I been doing? I had been trying to figure out what was the Hesi A2, how hard was it what else did I need. I was completley confused for months I studied after finally buying the review. I took so long because of so many perceptions that this exam was hard and in my mind i felt i would not know the information on it, I felt that I would never be ready, which now is ridiculous to think when you have studies that supplement the career. "Little did I know". I became so afraid I stalled and focused on others opinions. I finally scheduled and took it about a month ago I passed. I thought that the nursing community was through compassion, nurture care and the willingness to help others with dignity and pride I have been over shadowed with sadness through the eagerness of what i thought nursing actually was..... I dont understand why so many become stuck up or stingy. I get its competetive and we are all trying to make a living ,but at the end of the day what really is nursing? I have found my self discovering new information everyday. I realize I may of approached my goals incorrectly. Simple things have set me behind and it sucks... Every day it gets harder schools are changing their requirements , adding new things, adding policies expiration periods, Adding subtracting exam sections, changing exams etc. I have come to confront my fear that this may not be for me and it aches deep down in my core. I do not know what else I can pursue and make the best of what I have with my associates without having to take anything in addition. Hello I was wondering how did you prepare for the critical thinking section of the exam i am not sure what to expect or how to approach that section in particular I never been a nurse I am not sure what strategy tools or resources I can use to be successful any suggestions help and are appreciated.

Hello good evening I am actually applying to another program would you have any suggestions of what to expect for the critical section of the hesi. How can I approach the questions or what strategies can I use to score successfully. I am not sure what the questions are based on any sort of resources referneces would be really appreciated. I have about a week .please consider to give me some sort of idea thank you. (I never had that nurse experience never been a nurse so I am not sure what to expect)

Your words are very significant to me. I wish I could or would of had someone to guide the way. I thought the route I was taking would be greater in eduacation but either way results in something or nothing. Its only a slight difference I actually thought my degree would at least enable chances for me and open doors of opportu ity for a better job placement at least something more stable and closer to what I am working towards.I have not even got that I am not sure where I can get with the degree I currently have. This is why I thought maybe going in for a CNA certificate would help but I am half way through my goal its just a matter of making it through the other half. I am sure the numbers are the matter here and I will have no other choice but to continue and attempt. I thank you for taking the time to share something with me your very touching.

I only hold one degree which is my first degree. An Associates of Arts and yeah, that route I took was initially because I wanted to set out for some higher level of education. Actually exploring the possiblilites there are many ways of pursing a nursing career. Starting of with question if your need for employment is urgent or is it for education , or how soon do you want or need it. Things I was not aware of til now either way working up the way I am intending or to have done it backwards. I feel that in my situation I would of preferred to become an RN first. Now I am pretty much competing with LVNs, RNs and general applicants like me:no:(to be a nurse and be awarded a bachelors). Not only that ,but I am not even a nurse yet ,which means I am unsatisfied because I want and would of liked to be a someone by now. I actually took the Hesi exam I was not really sure how this whole process worked (first time for everything!) til now and I am trying to find my way around. As there is an expiration on pre-reqs I am already a bit late and all and dont want to fall further behind. I applied to 2 programs here in Texas around my area ,but I have looked at other schools and programs. The problem is that I do not have the money to move or any transition of that sort. I may actually retest because we do have more programs down here, but they either require an additional section or the Teas exam. Schools typically want the exam done in one sitting. Besides this why are you changing majors or is it just for extras? What did you do with your public health major? How did you prepare for the teas and if you dont mind sharing your scores. I need to brush up to expand my chances. Its great that your applying to multiple schools:) I have completley applied to one school I am just waiting for the evaluatiom and the acceptance:) or denial:down:. I knew where I was trying to go, but I did not know how to get there. For long I looked for answers because I was completely lost. All I knew was that I was in school to be a nurse. I did not know I had to apply to a program through a school. I thought it was automatic admission accpetance. So lets just say I am behind I am now getting a grip of what I need to do. I did not know what to do next all I heard was application and hesi. It may sound ridiculous that for long I searched what was that and I kept getting NClEX questions. I was out of school and could not find anyone who could give me advice on what to do. When I did become familiar with the next step I was scared to take the Hesi I had the review ,but I continued doing research and people kept dragging my doubts and I was insecure if I had sufficient material to be successful, and if not others would negatively comment on how hard it was and how there was all this other information. When I did meet people who took it they were not as brief this was more like a messy sweet and bitter spoiled soup combined with many opinions. Then all the different requirments this and that ,there was a lot going on. Now that I actually have my head cleared and focused I took the hesi after hard core studying and it was nothing like they say.I have had the chance to apply to two programs ,but my goal was to have more options and for that I will have to retest to fullfill all required sections to be eligible for other programs. This has not been easy I have not had the best experience. I am the first in my home to attend college so all of this is new to me compared to previous peers. The nursing proffession is highly demanding ,which call for many to seek a career in it. Loving or hating it, 99.9 of people I have met are hoping to be nurses and councelors and staff get easily offensive or annoyed when asked about the program, admissions, requirements etc. I guess due to the constant and commonly asked questions. I have reached out to many and I either get an attitude, if not they make you feel less and if not they shut you out. This why I am here because I am sure somewhere out there, for sure there are actual inspiring nurses. Thank you for responding it means a lot to me. I am actually looking at a few deadlines for the upcoming year. As i previously mentioned I applied at 2 for this fall term. Due to my not so likely chances of getting admitted to a BSN I am looking at an LVN program or ADN. I am considering to retest to increase my chances I am looking for suggestions on retakes for the hesi ,critical thinking section and the teas exam. At this point I just need to make a move. Even though I am waiting to hear back from the schools I have recently applied to I want to spread my chances.

You are lucky you have recieved admissions to some program. Many are waiting for acceptance if this is something you really want it means you will have to sacrifice for the better outcome. Although, it may of not been your ideal choice if you have the opportunity take it. These opportunities tend to come once in a life time and you cannot let these sacrifices influence your success. Its your future if you do not make the decisiom now someone else will take your seat. Will your prefer that or being closer to friends or what not. What is your priority friends will always be there if they are true. They should also want the best for you. Financially wise there are solutions and this is a big moment for you the outcome will be much more rewarding. You do not want to be the person saying I had this chance and I blew it or I regret it and advicing someone else to take the chance you didnt take. If you are at this point and there is no other option this may be your best choice besides from what I have heard nursing school does consist of making many sacrifices so this would be one of those and also other arrangements. I am 22 instead of being immature as so they are doing I would intend to intercat with you. My dad has always said to stick with people who yu can grow and learn from and diatance yourself from those who have nothing good or new to learn from or gain. Your grade is great do you know how many people fail through that course. I say that because prior to me taking that course all anyone said was oh thats a hard class this and that. When I sat through it , it was tough but I think based of your intentions and knowing your purpose makes the experience and moment different. It sounds like those students are jello of you based of knowing people my age. When someone surpasses your expectation those succeeding become bait for discrimination. Disregard them you know where you stand and where you are going you are no child anymore and see life a different way you have your family and kids and if your are where you are is because you know where your trying to get or where you are going. Do not guilt over that I was a tecahers pet at a point and bullied for it that was in 3rd grade ,but still look where I am now. It has nothing to do with your age or life it has to do with your achievements, dedication and progress. If you do not do it for you no one else will no one else cares this is all competition based keep pushing forward as you are doing now you are doing something great for you and the better being for the future of your children. Do not let negativity impact your success or goals do not ever do that because that is the intentions of many of those who try to intimidate you. You have great advantages with the progress you are making stick with your self and only those who have good intnetions for you. Good Luck !

Where I am at here in TX I was able to take A&P1 on campus both lab and lecture. As of now I am not sure if it is anywhere else, but the college I was enrolled in has begun to change there system and many of those science based classes are either completely online or hyrbid, which means partially online and on campus. It all depends on how they administer it or arrange the course work. For A&P 2 I had no other choice,but to take hyrid some labs where on campus and exams sometimes they were online of course it will be a little more difficult on how fast you receieve feedback from your instructor due to the timing etc. Of course you will also be self teaching yourself and may have access to contact peers through the course site. Many times you can make a study group you can either do it through messaging exchange numbers and keep contact. Exchanging information I feel is helpful because most times we dont cover many things or either dont understand them, but by exhanging informatiom you get to see the perception of others and it may simplify the information for you and add additional information. Most of the work should be self explanatory more said it is managable I was scared at first because I was like OH MY GOD there is so much information. Just take it a day at a time if you do not have another option just be sure to have your resources handy and know what to expect. Personally I would not take a course such as that one for the summer as it will be crucial information that will supplement your future career and studies it will be more that you will need to know and memorize other than cram and just take the class for the grade. The reason I mention this is because I am in the process of applying to nursing school and councelors explain their dissapoint on how students just sit through classes for a grade. Than later on their studies they struggle. Due to lack or insufficient foundation on the material whatever you are learning now will be essential throughout your curriculum of studies. Also, one of my proffesors once adviced me to always take my time and never rush through important courses that I would need in my career because it will always be better to understand and know the material other than to rush through and take such load of work. I wish you the best of luck carefully think of it because you do now want to have a W or F or I on yoir transcript only you know you and your study habits. Please do not take this as negative feedback I wish I would of had someone to advice me, but its easy for others to shut you out. This is not an easy career it is extemely competetive and is better to be aware at the moment then down along closer to the actual challenge.

I do not think that it should affect you in the long run I mean you were younger than. I think what matters most is the current up to date progress. Honestly, based of my assumptiom I am sure that it would be considered dishonest and may result in dismissal or termination of your application or admitance. Usually, they will make you consent to it or advice you of such actions or decisions that may cost you your chances and opportunities. Through all the research I have done I have seen others with your similar concern, but they are pushing to pursue there degree and believe it or not they get admitted besides there previous slacking etc. Even for programs that are so called competitve they literally still get considerations and others with high grades sometimes do not make it. I do not think you should be that concerned over previous activity. You were young and logically considering that factor and many others that constitute for the lack of success will surely not harm you now. You have an outstanding G.P.A your older and sure enough mature. You take things more serious now and that is one of the biggest difference from being younger to now and the progress. Sure enough if they are asking for personal information they perhaps have access to records on a system and its better to hear or be informed by the indivual other than having to hear or find out through another source. I am actually in TX I have applied for the Fall of 2017. I am not sure where you are residing. I actually was awarded with an Associates of arts my route is striving for a BSN. Unfortunatley, I do not know what my chances are with so many applicants I am afraid it will set me back. I am hoping I will get good news from either program I applied to. Do you have a previous degree? Also have you tested and if so which exam was required for your admissions?

I am a pre-nursing student and I am not sure if it will be to effective to post on this section. As I am sure others are trying to figure out a way to make it into nursing school. I graduated May of 2016 and was awarded with my Associates of Arts. Of course fullfilling all nursing pre-requisites. Atleast for the programs around my area. Initially, my route was for a BSN program, I was not to sure about my options or ways to go til now. I didnt know you could get your RN license through an ADN program, which perhaps would of been a quicker route to a career. I was not to sure about the transitions from CNA, LVN or LPN, ADN, BSN. Basically, all these options to get to an RN. I am in Texas I am not to sure how it works in other states ,but I basically feel like I am running out of time , as they have a 5 year policy on pre-reqs. Besides that I tested for the Hesi for admissions to a BSN program ,but searching deeper the competition is pretty tough. I scored a 83, In school I have earned decent grades. I do not know my chances I now dont know what to do. I started community college in Fall 2013 so I am assuming I would have til next year to either get my foot in the door or retest and pass these required admissions exams for consideration. Right now what I am sort of needing advice on is should I enroll into a CNA program to get a job in a clinical setting ,and would it look good in the future or somehow prepare me for the future pursuing this career. Should I apply to an LVN or LPN program and if I were admitted and successfully complete the program would I need to retest to admit to a BSN program. Also, would the 5 year policy still apply to me? Should I go for an ADN program? Would it then be easier to get into a BSN program? My route is for a BSN and I know many say I am almost there and taking a different route now would be a waist of time. This saddens me because I have goals ,and through all my attempts I dont have a career yet or am satisfied with my success at its fullest. All because I have not gotten to where I intend to be. I just need to assure my self that I will have a chance in this field, but if applying to a BSN program doesnt work due to the high volume of applicants I must continue to dig deeper and find some way although those years or pre-reqs could of been attending a ADN program or LVN program as they all result in the same( obtaining an RN license). I would like to get suggestions, advice of any sort would tremendously help. I have thought of moving but I do not have the money for it. Also, many other programs are requiring additional classes which I am done with taking and just want to get with the actual program, which will result with gaining something. Other than it I may have to look at other careers I am almost 22 and I do not want to feel like I waisted my time waiting for something and ended up with nothing . Thank you to all in advance.

Excellent that you understood partially what I have been wondering. I have contacted evolve, schools and they either give me different information, or information I already know. So basically, I just took my exam Feb 14th that was my first attempt ever. I passed. I actually took that exam with the school code for the school I applied to. Now is this Hesi Admissions exam in general, overall just allowed to retake two times ever since there are only 2 versions or how would I retake it after V2. I know that each program has its requirements some atleast require the limit of two times, but are these limits considered within the school which attempting to apply to or lifetime, regardless of where you are applying. Or are these 2 attempts each program speaks of only allowed for the lifetime of wanting to become a nurse and enter a nursing program. I am not sure if i am making sense. I am concerned because I already took version 1 ,but I may need to retest for another school as they require an additional section. I have contacted them and even though its my first time testing with their school code since I already took V1 . If I want to apply to their program I would test again using V2, but if I fail V2 would I be able to retest ,and if so what version would I use or would that be my last chance to test for admissions to nursing school period. Another concern, is if I did retest would I be able to select what scores I want to use for the program (even if its a different school, which i tested with using another school code) The evolve rep I spoke with said I have the option to use the best score as long as its within the validation period that depends on the program I am looking at. As far as the Hesi entrance exam, and its scores and attempts is my primary concern. I dont know if I only have two chances ,and should use choose wisley to where ,and how I use those attempts. If not would after those two testing sessions my chances of pursuing a nursing career over. Ex1: I apply to a community college and pass V1, I test again and fail can I choose the V1 scores over the V2. Ex2: I used both attempts at the community college with their school code. One of my grades was better than the other, but I have to retest completely because all sections must be satisfied in one sitting and I am missing a section . Now I have to test again to fulfill the Hesi exam requirments for another schools program ,but I already did V1 & V2. Would I be able to test again? Would V1& V2 be allowed as a retake because I would be using a new school code? Ex3: I tested once for the community college using V1 ,but now I am applying for another program that requires an additional section. So I take V2 but do not do well would my previous scores be valid if I find a program with those sections or would they use the most resent scores on my account regardless of the sections. As far as the waiting periods and all I think thats how you test if thsoe are the programs you are looking for admissions to. I hope I made some sense I know what I want to know ,but do not know how to be exact without causing confusion. If you did know I would appreciate the informations. If you do not mind have you taken the hesi yet or have you heard about V2. Theu say its the same content ,but different questions. Through the research I have done some say V2 is harder than V1.
