  1. Whisky Tango Foxtrot! Scroll! Scroll! Scroll! The process is insane, obsolete, impractical & makes no sense at all. It's less than 2 weeks before COT -- no orders, no commisioning... BUMMER! (Rant over. Peace!)
  2. I'm still keeping my fingers crossed that we go to COT next month, but I'm open to & even accepted the probability of joining the Jan2017 COT.
  3. He does not know when or if they are rolling out. He said it's up to Congress now whether to approve the scrolls or not in time for the Oct 2016 COT. And it's highly possible that we get to join the Jan 2017 COT, though "NOTHING is official yet". It certainly makes it difficult for all of us to plan & proceed in situations like this, right? I'm stressed out & very frustrated. But... life goes on, right?
  4. Is anyone else told that orders are not out yet? I was told by my recruiter that Congress has not yet approved several scrolls of candidates for the Oct 2016 COT. Bummer...
  5. Is it possible to know everyone's specialty & possible base assignment after COT? I'll be a flight nurse & it's either Scott AFB, Illinois or Pope AFB, NC.
  6. I'm likewise waiting to be commissioned. I'm waiting for security clearance too which is taking a long time considering almost all agencies are online/connected now. No updates for a week since the last time I spoke to my recruiter. Not being "in control" is something I have to get used to. I am hopeful that we see each other in Oct 3.
  7. COT in October too, flight nurse, Pope AFB NC. See you guys soon.
  8. I just sent an email to the Chief Nurse who interviewed me in LA AFB. Thanks again for the info jfratian.
  9. Is this for active service or the reserves component of the USAF?
  10. Thank you jeckrn & jfratian. I am combing through most of the related topics & current/updated posts in this site & I have gotten a lot of "first hand" & reliable info from contributors/members & moderators. MEPS is done, security clearance pending. This new chapter in my life is beginning to look promising & encouraging.
  11. I recently found out that I was accepted as a Flight Nurse (Active Service) for the USAF and scheduled for COT on October 2016, instead of January 2017. I am about to sign the Letter of Acceptance but I have a few questions/clarifications: 1. I have close to 6 years nursing experience, all in the ED. What should my rank be going in? They have me as an O-2, is that about right? 2. Per my recruiter: "The only accession bonus available at this time is for OR nurses & the ISP is just for NPs". I have no student loans and I was hoping to avail of the ISP (4-year contract) rather than the accession bonus -- and apparently both are not available for Flight Nurses at this time. I hope to get valuable insights from members & moderators. Thank you very much.
