University of Cincinnati Online FNP 2017
I heard back almost exactly 12 weeks after I had applied. Do you remember how to get onto that little UC account they gave you to fill out the application for the university? Another way to find out if you have been accepted is to log into that and look at your application status. It will either say deferred, declined or admitted. If it says admitted then you have been accepted into the program. They usually update that before they send out the emails! Good luck to you!

University of Cincinnati Online FNP 2017
The program is mapped out very user friendly. They use Blackboard or Canopy. It's pretty basic. So in my classes right now I have 2 assignments due about every 3 weeks with an exam about every 4 weeks. It's extremely doable work! the assignments are honestly just busy work. The exams are a bit more challenging, but they give you ample time to study and lots of resources. I'm doing this full-time with 4 children and job. I dropped to part-time, but it was more to keep my kids out of daycare than anything.

Of course! I have roughly 11 years experience altogether, but only 4 years as an RN in ICU. My GPA was a 3.5. Basically you'll apply through NursingCAS and it provides a breakdown of your degrees with subsequent GPAs in all subjects. For instance, my science GPA was only a 3.0, yet my mathematics GPA was a 3.9. UC told me they look at math above science. A friend of mine was also accepted with an overall GPA of 2.7, so it can be done. Get good references. Physicians if possible! You'll do great! GO FOR IT!

Any great student loans for grad school (FNP)?
Hey guys! I am on the prowl for a good, reputable student loan company. I start my FNP grad program in a few weeks and my first semester alone is 5200 dollars. I have no issues with getting student loans, but I want a company that doesn't charge a ton of interest. Anyone have any leads? Please and thank you!

Hey zanfelhor, I got your pm! The site won't allow me to answer back for some reason. I am unsure if the requirements are different for psych. I am doing Family and I got in with a cumulative GPA of 3.6. They didn't even look at just my nursing GPA. I was a little worried, because science was my lowest GPA breakdown, but my advisor told me that they really look at mathematics and mine was a 3.9. My friend got into the family program as well and his cummulative GPA was a 2.7. Just have good references in place and really talk up your experience and how it will benefit you in the program. You'll do great!

Feeling extremely burned out.
Thank you so much for replying :) That patient load is insane! We are always doubled with CRRT and balloon pump, but never together in the same assignment. My stress level over the last 2 years has literally tripled. I don't even remember what it's like to feel "normal" anymore... whatever that is right. I can't even sleep the night before I have to come to work. My heart just pounds and skips beats all night. When I am at work, I am fine. When I get to my car at the end of my shift, it hits me how mentally and physically exhausted I really am. I then proceed to crash on my first day off and feel hungover on my other days off. It's just this over and over again and I know it's from work. My home life is fantastic! I don't know what I would do without my family. I'm definitely on the prowl for something new.

I second this! Congrats on the graduation! Can't wait to be there myself. How did you feel about the program?

Same here! I've been an RN for a long time, but I just finished by BSN in summer. I actually wrote that in my essay. I told them that I am definitely disciplined as an online learner as I've been doing it for the last year already.

Feeling extremely burned out.
I have been in Critical Care for almost 10 full years now and I am starting to feel the burn! We moved to a new unit and it added 16 additional CCU rooms with the same amount of staffing. Needless to say, it's killing us. For the first time in my entire nursing career, I want to leave CCU for something less stressful. I am afraid that I will regret that decision if I go through with it. Has anyone else done this and what was your experience?

University of Cincinnati - NP
Hey all! I am loving reading all of theses acceptance posts! I submitted my final application and fee to UC on September 12th for the Spring 2017 FNP semester. Deadline for application is September 30th, so I'll be waiting a while to hear back from them. Probably the end of October is what my enrollment advisor is telling me. I am so nervous! I want admission to this program so badly and the suspense is killing me! How long did it take you guys to get your acceptance/denial notifications? Good luck to all of you!

Hi Buyer beware, They handle preceptorship independently. You are allowed to find your own preceptors and you can stay with the same one for the entire year of clinical if you like. I will be FNP, so all of my clinical does have to be in the family physician office setting. Basically, you can find up to five potential preceptors. They sign a contract with you for the year and you send that to the school for approval. They recommend getting a few of them just in case they aren't approved. Once you're good to go you just have them log your clinical hours for the year. Seems pretty simple to me.

University of Cincinnati Online FNP 2017
I have just finished applying for the Spring 2017 Online FNP program. Just seeing if anyone else is with me here? Are any of you in the program currently? If so, how do you like it? Any hiccups thus far?
