  1. once told this by a person who was taught this during orientation at forensic psychiatric unit. we as nurses CARE! COVER your ASS and RETAIN EMPLOYMENT!!!!!!
  2. boxing day is the day after christmas and a pubic holiday as well
  3. no bonus ever, had to pay $60 for the Christmas party, and got roastered on for night shift christmas day and boxing day. but at lest i get to wear normal non uniform cloths to work. for xmas night.
  4. I have seen dex use as a antiemetic but it's normally with haloperidol and in pal care. the best antiemetic that covers emotional and phyiscal neasea is ativan(lorazepam) s/l
  5. on our ward we use a y-set blood line, on one end have normal saline/5%dex, on the other one the chemo. prime the line with NS/5%dex then clamp run chemo. when chemo finsh clamp chemo side and flush the set with the flash bag.
  6. on my current ward, haematology a exit lights flash on the ward flashers for a about half a day just before we have a really bad death or code. as soon as the code or death has happened the exit light stops flashing. it's only happens on the really bad deaths and codes. it most of the time gives us a chance to over stock the arrest trolly just in time.
