  1. Lol Skylark while not as bad, UK then sounds like where I'm at in Brooklyn. A lot of times we end up doing these tasks as our techs and aides give attitude and love to sit/stand around and gossip. We definitely don't do our own sutures here though. After all that, I still can't over the difference in pay ( I know, I know free/cheap healthcare etc.) but I would still feel shorted.
  2. Thanks for your input @GrumpyRN, I appreciate it!
  3. Thanks so much @kaitfinder, your post is so helpful! Were you saying that NHS employees get free healthcare? Also regarding agency nursing, there's no benefits or pension, am I correct? In NYC of course since cost of living is high, you will get no less than 82k base salary working at a private hospital here
  4. Hi Coffee! Were you able to live comfortable with the salary while in the UK?
  5. Yes Kaitfinder I'd like some information as well. I can't get over the pay rate. It would be a big change to what I'm getting now in NYC even after I compute the exchange rate. I saw agency nursing pays a bit more than NHS nursing but I'm not sure of the benefits yet.
  6. Hmm ok thanks, yes it's a bigger commitment. I currently drill at McGuire as a Crewchief. I was considering flight nursing when I get my BSN but I think I'll have an issue if I'll have to go there more than even 2 weekends a month...
  7. Hi Vona, I read through the thread and you've been giving great information. When you say not like a TR, are you able to say how many days a month you'd be away training? Is it something substantial like 2 drill weekends instead of 1 or would it instead vary?
  8. Hello, I was accepted today (thank you Jesus)!
  9. You have been completely thorough regarding this topic. Thanks so much for creating this thread. Right before you started this thread I was going to ask if anyone had detailed information like this. You must be so excited that you are almost about to graduate! Best wishes to you and may you have a long, prosperous nursing career!
  10. Oh ok. What semester are you in? How do you manage covering so much reading in one week? Do you actually read all of those chapters or do you have another method?
  11. You're amazing, thanks! What semester did everyone start applying for RN jobs?
  12. Thanks, you're awesome for this!
  13. Thanks for this information! There are a lot of Lehman threads. Are you able to tell me what time the earliest class or clinical you've had has started regardless of semester and the time the latest class or clinical has started?
  14. Awesome, thanks for creating this! What time do your classes and clinicals (?) start?
