  1. I completely understand. Yes, I received an electronic offer to my email Tuesday evening, but I think they are working on them all week.
  2. @Candy Li Another new hire new graduate and I are looking for a place together. You said you are relocating. Are you interested in getting a place together? We are looking in Arcata about a 15 min drive north of Eureka.
  3. Okay, yeah, the recruiter told me the same thing. She said I will receive an official notice or letter (guessing email) sometime next week. No, I’m from Sonoma County so I will be relocating as well. I wonder how many new graduates they hired and I hope the Med-Surg manager is nice! I would have loved to meet him/her during the interview day.
  4. Yay, congrats! I got an offer for med/surg too! Did they tell you which shift?
  5. Thanks for the update! So That means we should hear something by the end of today? Good luck to you as well ? .
  6. Hi Candy. I haven’t heard anything yet. Fingers crossed! I’m trying to get into L&D although I don’t think I interviewed well. I had a cold and definitely was not at my best. Good luck to you! I’ll let you know once I hear something (either way I hope).
  7. Hi All! I wanted to start a thread on St. Joseph Health's new grad program in Eureka, CA. Two questions: 1) I'm curious who else out there has been invited to their welcome session and interview this Friday (May 10th) and which specialty your hoping to get into? 2) Also, I'd love to hear from anyone who has gone through this program and what your feedback is (i.e. do you recommend the program, why/why not)? Hope to hear from you soon!
  8. We will all find our way. We made it this far, right! ❤️
  9. @coldbrewprn I see that you also applied to med-surg and ortho. I thought I'd let you know I received my denial letter for med-surg at Memorial today. I'm external so hopefully your chances are higher being internal! I wish you good luck.
  10. I received my decline email today. I plan to apply again in June. Good luck to you all and congratulations on those who received an interview. ?
  11. Hi All! I applied yesterday as well. I'm shooting for med-surg at Memorial or ortho at Grossmont. I graduated in December and will be taking the NCLEX this Thursday. I'm external with no prior medical experience. I know my chances are slim, but I plan to stay optimistic. Good luck to you all!
  12. Hi All! I applied as well. @Lulu I also tried to apply right at midnight on the first day of the opening, but it wasn't open so I applied the next morning. My status still says "submission received." The website states we may not hear until one week before the interview dates so I think that's about 02/21 & 02/22. I wonder if positions will first go to those who are already working for the organization. Good luck to everyone who applied!
  13. Oh, awesome. Thanks for sharing. I searched and couldn't find any when I created the post. Let's move over to that discussion instead.
  14. Hi @texastech. I read in the FAQ that they will notify us at least one week prior to the interview dates (2/28 & 03/01). Hi @krnohe. My status still says "submission received" too!
  15. Hi All! I wanted to start a thread to see who else has applied for the Scripps New Grad Program for the June/August 2019 cohorts and to keep in touch during the application process. Also, I'm wondering if there's anyone out there who was accepted into a prior cohort who can answer a couple of questions: 1. Which level nursing degree did you have? (I know Magnet Hospitals are really pushing for their nurses to have BSN's since I believe all Magnet recognized hospitals need 80% of their nurses to have BSN's by 2020). Unfortunately, I only have my associates in nursing, but a bachelors in another field (if that counts for anything!) so I'm a little worried they will choose a BSN nurse over me. 2. Did anyone get in that was living outside of San Diego county? I look forward to hearing from you. Good luck to everyone who applied!
  16. @kbear Congratulations on getting in! That's wonderful news. I had no idea Shasta recently changed its policy. Lucky for us we both got into a program. It's getting harder and harder for pre-nursing students to get into a program :/ Good luck to you in your first semester :)
  17. @kbear Keeping my fingers crossed for you! That's how I got into my local cc (as an alternate because someone dropped). To answer your question, if I would have gone to shasta cc, I would have waited 2.5 years (Applied Spring '15, accepted for Fall '17).
  18. Hi Kbear. I just completed my first semester at my local JC so I declined Shasta's invitation for fall '17. Did you get into Shasta?
  19. No not yet. I applied in Spring 2015. My waitlist number was updated to 52 in June 2016. I started at 162, so I think I'll be in by next Fall (2017). Although the waitlist is somewhat long, Shasta is a great back up option, especially if you are not in the top tier of your classes or if you are a bad test taker (TEAS exam). Most nursing schools in CA just take the cream of the crop each application period with no wait list option. Unfortunately, my GPA, TEAS exam score, and volunteer hours (which I maxed) were not enough to get into this style of application evaluation. Therefore, I turned to schools with a wait list and/or lottery system. In the 2 years I've been waiting, I earned my BS in business management, knowing these skills can be transferred to any field, and applied twice (once each year) to my local JC (which has a lottery system). On the second time around at my local JC, I got in as an alternate!! However, if I didn't get in, I would have Shasta as my back up. I encourage anyone considering Shasta to apply and get on the wait list. It doesn't hurt to apply! If you want to be a nurse bad enough, waiting 2 - 2.5 years is nothing.
  20. To answer your question, yes the immunization deadline is October 24. I didn't have any issues with my Hep B immunization. I submitted my record showing the dates the doses were given AND a current blood titer showing positive for the antibody. I'd suggest contacting CastleBranch and asking them to clarify the overdue deadline. In addition, read the instructions in our packet regarding repeating the series. I remember it discussing different deadlines for repeating the series. Then, if you need further clarification, contact SRJC.
  21. Thanks, CGD1. Did SRJC send you a separate email instructing you on how to order?
  22. For those of you that were accepted into the spring 2017 cohort, have you received further guidance on ordering our skills lab packs yet? I see that our instruction packet states we will receive it sometime in September (I'm assuming by email). I'm getting anxious as September is coming to an end so I thought I'd check with the rest of you to see if you've received anything yet.
  23. Thanks, I'll see you in Fall for orientation!
  24. I got my acceptance letter for Spring yesterday!!! Wahooh! I'm ecstatic. Now to meet all the necessary deadlines í ½í±í ¼í¿¼
