  1. I'm at Pell City. Hi. Been so busy meeting requirements. Can't wait. But nervous too.
  2. Pell city. Here, Hi. I went to my high school, got my record, then after searching everywhere found out American Family Care does all the immunizations and the TB test. Out of the flu vaccine. But u can get that at CVS, Walgreens or anywhere. Cindy
  3. Pell City here. Got email. Been so busy meeting requirements haven't had time to post. The American family care, doc in box have all the immunizations fyi. Got mine, and the TB test too. Your immunization record will be with your high school. That's where I went with my id and got mine. Call first allow them time to pull it. Then to American Family Care, with that blue form of immunizations, and they do the rest. The info from your background check is automatically sent to Jeff State, just print out the receipt, or the receipt and the completed report (just to be sure as I did) and have with you along with medical sheet at orientation.
  4. Yes! Go to the last school, your high school with your id they will have it. I got mine Friday. The blue form of immunizations.
  5. The program is known to be difficult or a challenge. This is to our advantage, in the job market because employers feel Jeff State graduates are more prepared, ready to enter into the work force because its known to be one of the more difficult programs to complete. We have an edge upon graduation, others do not have.
  6. From what I've read your competitive A.P. You've got a good score. You'll make it.
  7. Junes here. 17th-23rd time frame for notify. So not too much longer. Good luck to all fingers crossed, prayers daily, salt over shoulder. (Can't hurt) ...
  8. Just that kind of experience will give you an edge. The average age of RN in Alabama, is 46, statistics report. I know of people who have no industry experience, making the decision to enter into RN, older than you. From scratch. I am one of those people. If I can, you can. My push was the thought: Do I want to look back and say "I should have" or "Gosh, I'm so glad I"... don't let age, peoples opinions, or obstacles along the way (and you will have some, we all do) deter your ambitions.
  9. Super helpful and relief to know the date last years applicants were notified. Thank you for that. I really appreciate that post. (Pell City for me).
  10. Hi. 1. You will be surprised how much help with a particular problem, subject etc. you will find on YouTube. 2. The pre nursing classes: Ask around about the professors. Look online see who is filling up first, the semester before you apply for that class, there's a reason they fill up first. THEYRE THE GOOD ONES. 3. Team up with another student in every class (possible that is), the days you miss, the one thing you don't "Get", etc. Buddy system 4. De-clutter, your life. Dump the annoying friend. Get rid of the cat. Put people in their place tell them what your doing, let them know you can't debate politics, Facebook, or console them about their relationship. 5. Remember the "Why" your doing this: Make changes to make this happen. 6. Get a Day Planner. You will need this. Write in it, what paper is due this day, kids recital this day, turn this report in this day. 7. Record the lectures: WITH A SEPERATE DEVICE, OTHER THAN YOUR PHONE. Get a tablet. You can re-listen to the lectures as your studying. Doesn't have to be visual, just the audio. Its a lifesaver. 8. Look at the nurses when you take yours kids or yourself to the doctor, imagine it being you. If they can why can't you????? Talk to them they will give you advice. 9. Dot get down: If you do. Take a day. Refocus. Play with kids. Lay in bed watch movies all day. Run at a beautiful state park. Whatever is YOU. 10. Don't believe half what you hear, about "I made this", "I have a BLA BLA BLA GPA", half of em didn't and don't". BELIEVE IN yourself. If they can, you can. And you will.
  11. I tried to post a ranking sheet link for you. Google, how does Jeff State score applicants for RN program. Download the ranking sheet. Or you can call and ask for advisor and they will figure it for you.
  12. Admission Requirements - NUR | Jefferson State Community College There's a ranking sheet download. Click on it, save so you can configure your score.
  13. 182, so yes I am nervous.
  14. 182, so yes I am nervous.
  15. Hi, everyone. Applied to Jeff State--Pell City Fall 2016. RN program. Wanted to open the subject up so we can have a place to vent while waiting.
