  1. Yes, I've been writing down what I've not been clear on, and I've taken NCLEX RN Mastery's pretest (78% chance but I had a noisy library and forgotten the earplugs I normally use) and have been going over my weaker areas. I'm a decent test taker, better with earplugs like I had mentioned. Thankfully they can provide those if wanted. I've reviewed systems and then gone and reviewed questions on those systems. I'm just realizing how close it is and hoping that this is enough.
  2. Congratulations! Do you feel that if someone practiced at least 100 nclex style questions a day, it would help? This is my strategy so far and I test on the 27th.
  3. I work with a lady who's on the fire department, and she's looking around for me. Hopefully someone can help.
  4. I live in a very rural area, the nearest city or hospital about 40 minutes away, so coming across a BLS class that I can be able to attend is really hard. I've been trying for about 3 months to get into each one I come across, but they're already filled, and when I've asked when the next on would be, most didn't have an answer. One told me they wouldn't be having any more until the new year. I'm finally registered for one, but the director of my program emailed me about this and said the date is too late, and I wouldn't be allowed to attend clinical. Since this was the only one I could find in my area, I'm looking into the online BLS program from the American Heart Association. My only issue with it is the skills checkoff. Do you HAVE to go to an AHA training center to be checked off, or can it be done by someone who is certified by AHA to teach?
  5. I'm in an ADN program and preparing to enter my third semester. This semester covers OB and has OB rotations and regular med surg rotations. Personal issues came up where I didn't pass Pharmacology with a high enough grade, so I was held back until I could pass (thankfully I did! 😊). This meant I didn't have a class with a clinical aspect, so I wasn't in a rotation this semester. After being out of clinicals so long, I'm nervous about going back. I don't work in the field yet (very rural community, no close openings for a student nurse to work in) so I haven't had a ton of practice during my clinical "break". Since this is an upper level class, I feel my instructors will expect more from me than I feel I can give. Any tips on how to prepare over the summer to return to the clinical setting? Thanks!
