  1. I am a current enrolled student at South University Columbia BSN nursing program and just completed quarter 1. All I can say now is thank you Jesus for this small break before quarter 2 starts. Overall the program is ok in my opinion of it so far because it's very clear they have a lot of kinks to work out with communication, requirements, expectations and etc. South as a school is still transitioning into a non-profit and I think that's causing a lot of the "up in the air" feeling. I don't have any other school to compare it to in regards to a nursing program to say it's better than this or worse than that since South is where I did all my prerequisites and only nursing program I have attended. I will say though is it's very fast paced and although most if not all nursing programs recommend you not work while in school I can speak for myself and say it's nearly impossible to with this program. I have changed my work schedule 3 times and currently on saturdays and sundays right now part time that I foresee changing as well because of the constant time demand this program has. Also they have raised the overall nursing GPA requirement to a 2.75 which means that only A's and B's are acceptable in order to meet and maintain that and no longer sufficient to have a C to pass the class. Definitely not trying to deter you but thought I would give some insight from someone inside the walls because as we all found out the hard way is that there are plenty of things staff and administrators won't tell you until the very end or it's too late. Good luck with your search! Alicia
  2. It's very easy and like previous poster said I have never seen anyone NOT get a certificate. You will only need 1 class and not all 4.
  3. I have found that memorizing for certain material/classes isn't beneficial so to help studying I would do something like a Q&A with a family member (usually kids since we would both learn together). For example, if they gave me CHF I would touch on key points in explaining the disease, symptoms, treatments, factors related and etc. This would give me the opportunity to talk out my solution so I would better remember the information and correct any weak points I may need to identify.
