  1. yeah Guam does require the CGFNS... thanks to all that have replied to my post by the way :nuke: the only licensure he can take is for the LPN.... i was so hoping he could take the RN and he chose california since his father lives in California and we will be moving there in a couple of years just after his petition clears the conditional status etc. etc. im still new to the visa thing, sorry... anyway if it is complicated then maybe we will just take the LPN first then go from there.......:nuke:
  2. hi guys, its been a long time since ive visited. anyway my husband who i am petitioning right now is in the Philippines and he applied for NCLEX California... he did not take the local boards since he will be moving here (guam). CBON wrote him a letter stating that all he is missing is his local board license... what should we do? he will be coming here in a couple of months already..... he has tried to apply for local board but missed the deadline for submission of papers... hoping for feedback, thanks guys!!!

  8. OMG i love you huys... u guys are the best...im so glad i found this forum, u guys really live up to this slogan on our uniform in nursing school... it said NURSES: lifting spirits, touching lives.. the encouragement in here is so great, u guys make the effort of letting us newbies feel really welcome... i know i can do this because there are people like u guys here to help me along the way, im gonna do my best, give it my all and at the end of that exam im gonna say "i did it!!" im gonna be just like u guys... thanks so much, NO MORE PROCRASTINATING, im gonna start NOW
  9. hi everyone.... i posted a thread here before that i was going to take the nclex-pn soon, and that soon is on november 22 and i feel like i don't know anything anymore... i mean i spent 4 years in a BSN program, graduated last year with considerably high grades and ive been stagnant until now... (omg im starting to cry) i know i should have been studying but instead i got myself a job and just kinda let myself go for a while.. now that i have applied for the exam and having to take it so soon, i feel like a total airhead... i would have my boyfriend (who is a soon-to-become-nurse also) ask me various questions from nursing school and more than not i would answer them wrong... i took a review course earlier this year which didnt seem to help cuz they were like breezing through the book (saunders). i have the book and im going to start on suzanne's study program which i hope would help me... i would like to know how you guys used the study program, like how many hours a day, what time of day and the notes u guys took... did you finish the book first before starting the 10 q's... i really need to pass this.... ok im done venting, i feel much calm... boy just letting this out makes me feel good... i can't talk to anyone in my family about this, they think so highly of me being the only one who graduated and all....i just feel dumb.... thanks for listening guys.... oh yeah by the way i like that whenever i doodle my name its always like this: Desiree L. Lucero RN
  10. thanks nemhain...i try to study at least 3-4 times a week maybe 2-3 hours a day... plus im attending a review class and we are using saunders... i had to ask cuz most of the nurses on this forum who used saunders passed... thanks again!!:)
  11. just want to know, has anyone failed the nclex while using saunders? i know its the pretty much recommended book here but i want to know the stats... thanks!
  12. saunder's is what we are currently using in review classes. i think its great compared to mosby... they say saunders is great together with kaplan's strategy book. i have both.
  13. thanks to blessed for rooting for me, uuuuummmm... i have applied for lpn licensure here in guam because they require a cgfns. my classmates in the review class say that if i register in california i can take the rn exam without the cgfns. my question is, do i apply for the licensure in california here in guam or do i have to download the application forms from california? because my transcripts are already here in guam and has been approved already. i don't think i can have my school send another one to california because it gets messed up, i had to go back to the philippines just to hurry up the process of sending my transcripts to guam. can i apply for the california licensure using guam's application? pls help.... thanks!!

  15. hey peeps... im new here, im a graduate nurse from the philippines but a born us citizen. im currently reviewing for the nclex exams in a review class at the hospital here in guam and most of my classmates are 2nd, 3rd and 4th takers and that really scares me... kind of blows of my hope for passing first time. im currently focusing on just 2 books right now, the saunders comprehensive and kaplan's strategy book. what else would you suggest i do to alleviate my fears and nail the boards? thanks!
