I applied during the February application period. I submitted everything that was required and waited an eternity to hear from someone. Intitially, I got an email saying my resume was being forwarded to a recruiter. Next, I got a call wanting to set up an interview. The interview was in May. After that, I received an email stating they were doing a background check and about a week after that I got the call that I was accepted. It's a very long process, but so worth it. I just "graduated" from the program in July, and it's everything that you expect it to be. There's a lot of education along with simulation. It's a very safe atmosphere to learn in and ask questions. The nurses that lead the program are amazing and kept in contact with us through the year to see how things were going on the unit. They truly all want you to succeed as a new grad nurse. I highly recommend applying.

SCC definitely prepares you to be a nurse. They have an excellent NCLEX pass rate as well. It's a tougher program in my opinion, but worth it. I graduated in December 2015 and out of the 30 something people that graduated, only 1 didn't pass NCLEX on the first try. The professors want you to succeed but you'll have to put in the work to make it happen. SCC was my last choice but I'm so happy that's where I ended up going. I think you'll like it!

I would imagine that would help immensely! I had no experience besides clinicals, and I wasn't an internal applicant.

I have an associates degree and haven't yet enrolled in a bachelors degree program and started with mayo in their new grad program last July. So it definitely isn't a requirement!

You'll need to purchase them. Navy blue. Any brand and material are fine. Scrubs and beyond gives a discount to mayo employees, id take a copy of your offer letter just in case they need proof.

Hello! I can't think of any, I wasn't introduced to any in my training. It's a stroke center and you'll get certified for that in your training. They do a really good job of teaching you everything you need to know.

No problem! It was a stressful couple of weeks waiting for the call, jumping at every unknown phone number until I spoke with them. Another tip, their phone number starts with 480-342, so be on the lookout! I hope you hear from them!

I think they might be behind on the website updates because mine changed before I had the interview. They will let you know either way.

I'm in the program now and got that email before I got the call that I had been offered a position. It's not a for sure sign, but it definitely means you are still in the running. Congrats!!

Congrats! The next step will be a phone call requesting an interview if they feel like you could be a good fit. You've made it through the first round!

The new grad residency program has it's own application. It'll be with all their other jobs, but it is only open for three days, twice a year. I think the next time you can apply is in October. Go to mayoclinic.gov and search nurse residency AZ and you'll find more info.

I only had one, so I'd say that's the minimum.

I love it! I haven't met a person who wasn't friendly or willing to help me along in my learning. The teamwork is amazing and I feel like a valued member of the team, even though I've just started out. All I can say for you is to definitely try for mayo. My gpa was nothing to brag about, I don't have a BSN, and I had no previous experience in the medical field. Im not exactly sure what stood out enough for them to pick me, but if I can get in, anyone has a chance. For statistics, over 500 applied, around 90 were interviewed, and 31 were offered positions. It's very competitive but it's worth a shot.

I'm in the program right now, I think the next application will be out in October for a couple of days only. You would be applying for a start date in February. You apply online and they will then contact you via email for any further information. I think if you google mayo clinic nurse residency program in Arizona, information should come up.

I have the Littmann Cardiology III as well and I would definitely recommend it.

I went to Scottsdale CC. The class had 90 students in block 1 and the ages varied. There was quite a bit of people that decided they wanted to be a nurse around the same age you did. I never noticed any discrimination among the students or instructors. We were all there for the same end result, and everyone worked together to get to that. As for SCC, I thought the program was difficult, but worth the hard work. They have something like a 97% success rate on NCLEX, so you know you'll be prepared. Class days change each semester, but it was typically 2 class days and a clinical day, which could be on the weekend. There were also additional days scattered in through the semester for clinical learning activities.

I had 5 options and got accepted into my fifth choice. Turns out it was the school with the biggest class size.

The week following my interview was their last week for interviews. She said the following week they would make their selections, and the third week (which is this week!) HR would be calling with offers. Did you get an email about your criminal history from mayo?
