  1. I agree with most of the replys talk to your nurse manager and your preceptor. my first preceptor did a similar thing to me, she handed me the keys and said let me know if you need any help, I was mortified but when we were through orientation I felt comfortable on my own where as some of the girls who only had two or three patients didn't. I asked her many questions and she had to come to my aide a few times. but still to this day 14 years later I have no problem asking for help when I need it or asking questions if I don't know something and I don't mind offering my help either.
  2. awesome people with knowledge just what I need. I hope you guys don't mind if I pick your brains. my neurologist during a recent check up ( I have arnold chiari's) told me I have white spots on the frontal lobe and she believes it to be MS.........when you guys see white spots are they always MS or could it be something else, maybe from the csf flow being backed up for so many years prior to surgery???? tia's????? Thanks guys I just need someone who really understands MRI"s haha i'm not sure the neurologist does lolol. (kidding)
  3. hi gang I am a registered nurse and i'm also a zipper head as we chiarians are fondly referred too after decompression surgery lol. it is my experience that the size of herniation is not as important as the symptoms the patient is experiencing. The world arnold chiari malformation site is a good site for info, also The chiari institutue in new york has tapes for sale online about chiari's. i've found some wonderful sites about this annoying and frustrating defect. I hope these two sites give you the info you were looking for.
