I have been and I'm trying to get the money together. I'm just really confused about it. I know the BON will still see everything regardless and I was told that most LTCs and hospitals will as well due to Medicare/Medicaid. I haven't gotten any real answers as if it would be that beneficial to employment.

Relocation is an option at this point. Even out of state. I spent too much money and time not to use my license. It's just frustrating. I'll definitely see if we have that option or something similar here. Thank you so much.

What state are you in? I didn't know that existed. I'll definitely look into it. I even called the Arkansas BON and she said I probably couldn't be licensed there even. I just don't understand why they'd license me here knowing I couldn't work.

I talked to an expungement lawyer and he said it wouldn't show up on an FBI or OSBI check. Does anyone know if this is true? Is it worth it because its alot of money that we don't have as I am not working and my fiance is the only one working? Edited to fix typos and left out a line.

Burglary II and concealing stolen property. I do think it might have to do with the area but also the charges. I include it on the application to be thorough and not waste my time or potential employers. I was told that with a felony charge I can't work anywhere that receives Medicaid/Medicare. Does anyone know if it's true? Even with no conviction?

I graduated in January 2018, I had to go through a review process due to criminal history and tested in November 2018 and passed and was granted an LPN license. I had a past history for felony charges. I entered a plea deal and received deferred sentencing so I wasn't convicted and I am eligible for state level expungement. This happened in 2013 and I've sent paperwork for the expungement but I'm told it will still show up. I have sent out over 100 applications and have received one interview. I am in Oklahoma and I am due to renew my license soon but I haven't worked anywhere. I am not sure if I can work in long term care due to their restrictions. Or anywhere for that matter? I am feeling so defeated, what am I supposed to do? Can anyone offer advice? I feel like I wasted my time and I need to just go back to waitressing.

Just to update. I was stressing over nothing. My computer shut off at minimum and I passed! I only had 2 or 3 religous/cultural questions.

I take the NCLEX PN in a little over a week. I have been studying and doing 200 questions or so a day but I still don't feel ready. I am scoring in the 80s on Exam Cram, 70s using Mosby's Comprehensive Review and in the 60s using Saunders. I heard Saunders was extremely easy and I'm scoring lowest in that review. I can not afford to retake it in the near future so any tips or advice on what to study or review to purchase would be appreciated. I am having the most issues with Cultural and Religious considerations in the Psychosocial category.

I heard back from the BON last week....I got the all clear for licensing! I start nursing school in February (fingers crossed). She told me that I would have additional paperwork to submit when the time comes but they really only look at violent offenders here in Oklahoma.

Thank you! In Oklahoma it is five years as well, I was just unsure if they would count it from the start of my deferred sentence or the end of my probation since it's not an actual conviction. If it is true that if you can be a CNA, you can be a nurse then I shouldbe okay. The director said come SeptemberI can start CNA program but in the meantime I still have not heard anything. I also called the TX BON because I am willing to relocate

What state are you in? Come September it won't be actual charges, just like a settled case. That is how it was explained to me when I took the plea anyways. I was 18 and should have researched better.

I live in Oklahoma, which is why it's very confusing. They're very strict as well.

Thank you! You have given me more of a reason to be optimistic. I am 3 classes from an associates in allied health but after changing my major for the 3rd time I feel 100% that nursing is what I want to do with my life. It was always an option, but I told myself I wouldn't want the responsibility of someone's life in my hands...it wasn't until recently that I realized I was putting off the inevitable of becoming a nurse because I was actually too chicken of failing out. Now it's a waiting game...

I will remain optimistic until I hear from them.

Mine will be 5 years old at the time I would apply for licensing...maybe there is hope. Thank you for your reply and honesty. Maybe I will start looking into other career options though.
