Nursing Essay question
I'm not too familiar with the roles of a vet tech but Ic an imagine you can try to relate administering dosages dosages between the two careers. Another thing to consider is how you interact with the owners of the animals. Try to show off how you've been able to deal with communicating to the owners in tough situations and being able to make sure they are comfortable throughout the situation.

Drug testing in Nursing Programs? (Anoka Ramsey CC)
Obviously weed causes impairment, but it's not like alcohol is great for your brain either. I'm not trying to justify the usage of either, I just find it hypocritical for so many nurses to vilify marijuana but still drink alcohol on a regular basis. I think both should be allowed so long as it has no effect on work. That being said, because it's illegal and nursing schools and hospitals don't care how it affect the original poster personally, it's best to just avoid marijuana usage in this profession either way.

Drug testing in Nursing Programs? (Anoka Ramsey CC)
Hey, I'm gonna go ahead and hijack this thread for a moment. Does anyone know if nursing schools test for nicotine? I know many hospitals will test employees for insurance reasons, but I haven't heard much about how nursing schools handle it. I use an e-cig so it's not like I smell, but I most likely have nicotine in my body. Also, does anyone know what the tests are like (urine, saliva, hair)? I have no problem quitting if necessary, but I understand that hair can show substance uses from long ago.

UCF BSN Fall 2017
Well my girlfriend graduated from FSU and is now in a graduate program in Orlando, my parents live just an hour from Orlando, and Tallahassee only has 1 hospital which kinda cuts networking and local career options drastically whereas Orlando is chock full of hospitals and opportunities. FSU will be my backup if UCF denies me but let's not think about that

UCF BSN Fall 2017
Hah I've also been following the discussion for maybe a week without contributing. I haven't actually calculated my science or prereq gpa since I'm at FSU which has different prereqs I've been trying to meet. I have a 3.73 overall GPA and a 92.7 TEAS. That got me into FSU nursing which doesn't take TEAS into account, but does require an interview. UCF is my first choice and I wish the best to all of you!
