Summer 2019 Atlanta Nurse Residency
ADN is not a major factor especially if you are already working in a hospital that does require BSN. However I don't know about CHOA. 2 of my ADN classmates signed offers with Emory and they do require BSN but they worked there as PCTs during nursing school. I have 2 offers in ICU from piedmont and AMC and I will have my ADN. Also I do not work in a hospital. Several of my classmates are currently receiving offers from Grady I haven't heard any from ICU or ER yet but definitely MEDSURG offers.

Went to massive hiring event for wellstar in Georgia
For AMC I think it depends on the department and also who interviews you. ICU asked general questions then you had to pick a condition out of the five they gave you and go through everything from pathology to nursing process. ED same thing except the interviewer I had gave you 4 pt and you had to prioritize what order you would see them. I had a friend there who interviewed for ED as well and she didn't get any scenario questions.

Went to massive hiring event for wellstar in Georgia
I think it just depends. I'm assuming you're referring to the one this past Saturday. I saw ppl who were offered a position in ICU at AMC on the spot and they were not interviewed until late afternoon. I know other classmates who interviewed who had great interviews and were just told they would here something Monday. Then other classmates were told 2-3 weeks. There were actually over 300 ppl there and the longest lines were Kennestone, AMC and some others that had long lines in L & D I did 6 interviews and was there from 830-330. I even interviewed in med surg just to get my foot in the door. I'm sure with all those ppl it came down to which person interviewed you.

Chamberlain College of Nursing in Atlanta, GA
Question regarding background check. A little history lol: I went through the entire process last year with chamberlain until the background check. At the time my DUI was 5 years old and I was told the check went back 6 years. I didn't want to waste anymore money and be turned down so I decided to not pay the $150 and take classes at another school to continue bringing up my gpa and try again when both my kids are in school. The time is now here so I am wanting to try again but I'm wondering how me being so close to the 6 year background check would affect me. Back when I talked to them they advised me also not to pay if I know it wasn't 6 years, (because they don't have an admission board like other schools where I can explain my mistake and life since that mistake and what I have learned since then also I haven't had even a speeding ticket since) so I didn't. It's a saturday so they are closed lol but I figured why not try this thread. A more blunt question lol: Has anyone had a past DUI, applied to chamberlain, and started successfully taking classes?
