1. thank you for starting the FB page! I couldn't find it when I searched CSUS Nursing Class of Spring 2018, but you just started it, so I'll keep checking incase FB is just taking a while to catch the search engine up. THANK YOU AGAIN!
2. I was hoping you would know. I'm sure someone will start a fb page of some kind for our class. We might have to wait for the first week. Until then, just keep re-re-reading the checklist and orientation page like me
3. Have you set one up? I'm afraid I'd mess something up and everyone would hate me. The way they're throwing "to do" lists at us is making me anxious. :/
4. i got 3 points for disadvantaged HS. Mine wasn't ranked either. I printed the page from the API base they linked under supp instructions. Then I sent my HS transcripts along with the API base page.
5. Oops, I had 3.912! So you must be alternate 23/24! You'll get an email by next fri because we have to submit our letter of intent by Wednesday.
6. Lunita7 is right. Alternates with the same score are organized first by GPA, then TEAS. My scores: GPA: 3.92 TEAS: 89.3 supp: 6 so anyone who had a 3.93, or higher, was in front of me even though we had the same score.
7. The alternate numbers for fall usually reach the 40's. Last fall was unusual, so try not to pay too much attention to that number. :)
8. I had 79. I have a friend who is alternate 54 with 75 points, it seems to be an average 10 people for each point.
9. nurse_hayley, let us know when they get to your number!
10. Check your emails :))) I was accepted and my alternate number was 22.5! I figured I wouldn't hear back so soon, since my number was so far down the list.
11. Hi Ahri! We got our admission decisions on 4/29. Applicants that didn't make the initial cut off were notified 4/15. You should contact them soon! If you applied, you should have heard from them by now. Email Teri Tallman.
12. Gift shop clerk, really? Thank you for sharing your score. Let us know when they reach your number :)
13. #13! I wouldn't worry about a thing! Do you mind sharing your impaction score? I'm wondering how many people are at each number.
14. Exactly nurse_hayley! Good vibes to everyone! And congrats on all that got accepted
15. I got in, but I'll be giving up my spot if I get into Sac State. I'm wait listed there, but my alternate number is promising. For anyone whoes application is "pending", hang in there; I share your anxieties!!
16. Waitlisted It's better than a "no", but I'm really bummed.
17. I've been trying to find patterns in former semester forums, but we really don't know. Especially considering Spring 16's cutoff dropped a point, when the pattern was going up 2 or 3pts each semester. Comparing older posts, the final cut off score can drop a lot from #80's score. Fall '14: #80=76 //Final cut off=71 (dropped 5 pts) Spring '16: #80=79//Final cut off=75 (dropped 4 pts) I think you're still good with 77 pts :)
18. We received over 440 applications for 80 seats. Based on unverified student-reported data, the applicant ranked number 80 has 81 points—the applicant ranked 160 has 73 points. We anticipate the final cut-score will be lower when we have completed the evaluation and Intent to Enroll process, but we regret it may be higher than previous fall terms, http://www.csus.edu/HHS/nrs/programs/undergraduate/traditional/Docs/app_pool_stat_1-29-16.pdf. Admission decisions will be emailed as follows: Candidates ranked 1-160 will be notified in late April just before registration opens on May 2. Candidates ranked 161 or higher, based on student-reported data, will be notified Friday, April 15 after 5 p.m. Wow!! 81!
19. No, it doesn't say the total number on the wait list either. It only says to keep April 28th open for potential interviews. We will be notified May 15th if space is available, and if we aren't contacted by August 12th, we should consider our application closed. The letter explained that this was a very competitive enrollment. Anyone that was denied/wait listed, if this is your top school, the one you really want, just apply again in August! Taking a semester off doesn't sound too bad me
20. I got an email today about being wait-listed. I submitted my request to remain on the list. Good luck to you Sav768
21. Melankie, Congrats on getting in!! You're the only one on the entire forum! If you already have a B.S., why aren't you doing a second BSN program? I'd look into it, because they're usually only two semesters long. Check out Sac State's 2nd BSN program. It could shave off a year for you. Sac State is my "hopeful" school, so I might be biased
22. I wish SFSU was more transparent about accepting only 20 students for this enrollment. I wouldn't have applied had I known because they filter through 600-800 applications. My applications weren't cheap, and with the the odds against me at 20/600-800, I would have chosen another "safety" school.
23. Sutee, I recognize you from the SFSU forum. If you can earn such a high GPA in your prerequisites, I know you can get a great score on the TEAS. It was a difficult test to prepare for, especially the science portion because it was vague in the study guide. Now that you've taken it, you have a better idea of how to direct your studies. You have a good chance at SJSU, but if you really want SFSU, all you have to do is take your TEAS again. Most of their applicants take it 3 times!! Best of luck to you :)
24. I'm so bummed I wonder why it's so different this application period.
25. Still, I don't think we should worry too much. In a recent term, the wait listed applicants went to no. 50! Not all who get accepted immediately file their intent to attend. If an interview is necessary for acceptance, we could get that interview when other students decline their acceptance. I'm hoping anyway...
