  1. So excited for you!!!...my name is Gigi, see you on the 13th!!!
  2. 1 Thank you so much!!...good luck to you too-you might just see a letter too!...keep me posted!
  3. Praising God for my acceptance letter for Fall 2016 at Century!....I am so thankful and excited to get started!...good luck to everyone on the wait list...just thought I'd share in case people are tracking like I was!
  4. Thank you SO much for posting this!...while its not an acceptance letter, it's a small glimmer of hope-and as you know, every little bit helps! I'm definitely not going to go to Rasmussen-it was a small thought in my head at one point though! The debt alone would kill me in the end! I broke out the Teas manual this weekend and am studying hard daily...signed up for the 5/25 test day! I'm praying I wont need to take it, but will if I don't see a letter before then. My highest score was 75- if I got it up to an 80 my comp score would be 11.75. I was so excited to hear your good news and then so down when a letter didn't come-it still may not, but I was so happy to see this post today-as I bet you are right on the money with your thoughts! Congratulations again to you! And thanks for brightening this gloomy day! Let me know if you hear any other hopeful news!!!
  5. Thanks for the reply...and no, they dont tell you your number...i've got the manual and learned alot from keshwani for math...he goes throught each page of the math in the teas book-gonna pull it out and do it again!...thanks for yor encouragment!...and good luck on your Nclex!
  6. Thank you for the encouragement...and congratulations to you! I dropped my app off in person and as weird as it sounds, had a "good feeling" about the school-everyone was friendly, welcoming and helpful-every time I call there it's the same way. Really praying I get in, but haven't heard any news re: the waitlist yet. I'm going to try and get my Teas score above 75 (my composite is 11.22 right now) next month and pray for an act of God! I really don't want to go to Rasmussen (and likely wont), but student loans are due, and the competition is only rising Have you heard of anyone accepted from the wait list for fall? I would assume it's about this time that the majority of seats open( if there are any) as everyone had to accept their offers by April 1st.
  7. Called at 8am...they transferred call to the nursing dept...i left a msg and have not heard back. i will post lster if i do though!
  8. Have you heard anything yet?
  9. I don't want to look at that book ever again! I am going to call the admissions office tomorrow and see if I can get some info-like whether or not all the appeals were done and how many seats opened up for the waitlist, and whether or not all letters were sent out. Maybe they are still working on them, and seat availability has yet to be determined!...all I've heard is the one story about someone who won her appeal and got in. I would think more people would be posting if they were waitlisted and now accepted!...hopefully I am able to find out when I call. Have you signed up for the Teas?
  10. Praying for good news in the mail today!!...keep me posted :)
  11. There are definitely many variables! Not all schools have the same requirements either. I can't remember which school (MCTC?) required B's in all the sciences! I know when I started at NHCC for generals, it was req'd as well, then it was lowered to a C requirement. At one point at NHCC, Chemistry was req'd and is now just "strongly recommended", but if you choose to take it you have to have taken math through college Algebra. Things are constantly changing, that's for sure.Just back in 2010 they actually counted CNA experience toward getting in! And the Teas-version 6 this summer!...I don't think once you've taken it multiple times and gotten a decent score you should have to take the version 6 to keep applying-it's expensive and exhausting!...and useless! This field has gotten flooded with applicants in the last five years, without enough seats, instructors and clinical sites to keep up! As far as applicants, I'm sure the numbers are all over the board and it all depends who applies at the same time you do...I just picked NHCC and Century to apply to because I am NOT willing to take more classes at this point-for me, its a waste of time/money and still not a guarantee of getting in. Had I taken Chemistry, I likely would not have gotten an A (I know myself!) and would have had a lower composite score applying for Century using a Chem grade vs gen ed substitute, so I'm thankful for that!
  12. I got nothing today either...tomorrow will be a long day.
  13. I thought they required chemistry which is why i didnt apply...century does too, but they allowed me to sub a gen ed class of choice as i was through with generals (took all at nhcc and chem was NOT req'd)...AR wouldnt not negotiate the chem requirement
  14. Keep your hopes up..im only 11.22...and my score was lower at nchh due to the gpa...it was 3.5 making comp score of only 10.97....luckily my gpa was 3.75 at century...im sure not all letters mailed the same day are rec'd the same day...i called home...no mail yet.
  15. Taber24, I thought i called Anoka Ramsey and they would not budge on the Chemistry requirement...true?
  16. CONGRATULATIONS!!!! And thanks for the update!...praying my letter comes too! :)
  17. Hodoab, Thanks for posting an update!...every little piece of news helps in some little way!...on another allnurses blog, a student originally denied due to a transfer class issue, won her appeal and got an acceptance letter today in the mail. My guess is Sherry must have gotten through the appeals and sent letters before going on vacation!....hoping and praying ...post as soon as you get your mail :) and I will too!...good luck!!!
  18. Anyone heard of an \y action with the Century waitlist?
  19. Sorry I didn't mean to repeat all that information I just read the last comment before I responded!
  20. I called Sherry at Century yesterday. She said that they are working on some of the Appeals and once that was complete, they would know how many seats were available. She said that we could likely expect a letter if we were chosen by the end of April. I seen someone mention on one of these blogs that there was an error on their transcript comma so initially she was denied and now has to appeal that denial. Not sure what the other appeals are about or how many there are and Sherry didn't say when she would be done going through them. I'm really hoping it is soon so I can decide if I want to start studying for the teas again exclamation point
  21. I forgot to mention that I doubt it's a special wait list...when I spoke to Sherry today, she specifically said she was working on appeals, and would not know until she was done how many seats would be available for people on the wait list...guessing with your high score that you will be in like flynn! I however have 11.22, so debating whether or not to start studying to retake teas for June 1st application My Teas was only 75.
  22. Oh my goodness!...That a tough place to be-you would think if the error wasn't yours, and you would otherwise have made it in, that there would be no wait
  23. I just called Sheri Hegstom at Century. She said they would be sending letters out to people selected from the wait list (hopefully) by the end of April. She said she is right now working on "appeals" (not sure what that is referencing), once that is complete, she will know how many seats are available and be able to send letters. I asked her if the range of composite scores on the wait list was 10.94-11.33 and she said that sounds about right (but did not give exact numbers).
  24. Wow!...im surprised you did not get in with that score!...someone posted that admissions told them wait list scores were 10.94-11.33...if you are on there i guess thats not accurate! Sure hope we hear soon-good luck to you!
