2020 NHSC Loan Repayment Program
Well congratulations! I’m hopeful I’ll be getting an email soon! The best thing about the NHSC is it is not taxable where the nurse loan repayment is. You can continue the program for several years to continue paying off your loans and it’s tax free. I’ve also heard from several other NHSC recipients that once your in they give you priority for continuation of contract. Just a little info for you to think about before you say your going to wait on the other.

- Need Help! Contract Negotiation
Yeah that's really how I feel. I feel likes it's a little over bearing. They currently pay for my health insurance I get 2 weeks vacation and 5 days cme with a 1500 dollar allowance, no direct sick time. They also pay for license fees including state and DEA. I've been with the practice for 2 years. I just started getting productivity bonuses via RVUs quarterly. I haven't looked else where cause I've been content and I feel like having peds experience will be a selling point for later in my career. I work in Kentucky.- Need Help! Contract Negotiation
Hey all so I'm faced with a big dilemma at work. I currently work as an FNP at a pediatric office. I've now been there for 2 years and my contract is up for renewal. My boss popped me with a big request she wants me to sign a 3 year contract instead of my usual year to year. She also now wants a 30 mile non compete clause for one year after, extending to both family and pediatric practice. So I'm happy with where I am but my pay is low at 75,000. My benefit package is fair totaling about 12,000 per year. My previous years billings were about $350,000, averaging 20 patients per day. I work 40 hours per week with one Saturday per month. So my biggest question is what salary should I ask for since she is wanting such a large amount of time. I'm paranoid about giving up all my negotiating power for 3 years. Any and all advice is appreciated!
