  1. CONGRATS!! That’s awesome news! Good luck on the NCLEX. You’re gonna pass with flying colors! ? What did they say regarding the ED? That was one unit I interviewed with.
  2. I got an email that they are still making offers this week. So should hear something by the end of the week. ?
  3. I haven't heard anything, and I sent a follow up email this morning.
  4. Haven't heard anything either! Good luck!
  5. Vancouver. They could still be working out times? One of my interview times is TBD. Which units did you preference?
  6. @OregonRN91 I received an email this morning from the Riverbend hospital with interview times. Be on the lookout!
  7. I also applied for both and got the same e-mail. Not sure about the answer to your question, though!
  8. @OregonRN91 I haven’t yet either. I’ll update if I do!
  9. Anyone hear anything back yet? (:
  10. I am also still waiting to hear back. :) Got my reference request last Thursday and completed over the weekend. Good luck!
  11. Most of us just use our backpacks. At least at the Portland campus. Some of us have stethoscope cases. The one I got is from amazon.
  12. I think it's a secret group, but you should get invited once mentor/mentee paperwork goes out and everything gets sorted. If you're wondering about the specific class I brought up, the class was "PHE 446U" at PSU. Btw, congrats on your acceptance (:
  13. Many of us took an online class together during spring term because we only had 9 credits. We have a document on the mentor facebook page which lists classes people took and how easy they were (: (This is for the Portland Campus)
  14. Yes, I believe so.
  15. Oh, and I also wanted to add that if you utilize JBT at OHSU (portland), they waive your copay for office visits and offer free services such as behavioral health services. It doesn't matter if you use their insurance or not.
  16. I don't know the exact number, but it's between 1-1.5k each term, and it's just added to your tuition. They should tell you in one of the packets they send you. If you want to know the exact number, I can look it up for you.
  17. I can't say much about the interview other than last year it was a group interview (5 interviewees and 3 or 4 interviewers) along with a proctored essay. I also interviewed at CCC, which had a similar format. I declined to go to MHCC's interview because I had already heard back from OHSU at that point, and OHSU was always my top choice. The decision on which college to choose is very much a personal choice. I chose to go to OHSU because it was highly recommended by nurses I spoke with. I had no prior loans so financial reasons didn't sway me either way, although the price of a community college can be enticing! There are a lot of opportunities and support at OHSU. One of my friends chose to go to CCC, and I have noticed there are some differences in pace. For example, they did injections their first term and have done them on patients, whereas, we learned injections second term and wont be practicing this skill until fall term. Both schools seem to have the same workload, although the actual work seems to be different. Another difference I noticed is that OHSU has traditional classes for pathophysiology and pharmacology whereas CCC's are online (This was a huge factor for me). CCC was my second choice, mostly because campus is about 5 minutes from my house. The only thing I don't like about OHSU is the commute, but I think it is definitely worth it. I'm happy to answer any specific questions (as best as I can!). (:
  18. I am in OHSU's program, which I love. I posted some tips a few pages back if you want to check them out (:
  19. For those wondering about points at CCC, I had 51.48 points last year and was invited for an interview. It varies each year depending on the competiveness of those applying. Good luck!
  20. I agree with Mbells. I was not in your interview group, but an additional tip is to take your time. Count to 3 and formulate your response before you say it. Make sure you initiate eye contact with each interviewer everytime you answer a question and be sincere. Try to relate your experience to every question, and try to think of something unique that they may not hear from someone else. Come up with a list of questions beforehand and answer as many as you can, that way you're prepared with an experience if a similar question shows up. There's tons of resources online with practice interview questions! Also, practice interviewing with a friend or family member. It sounds silly, but this helped me tremendously because I identified my bad habits right away and corrected them (as best as I could!). When other people are answering their questions, keep a straight face and keep your head up! Smile!!
  21. Thanks!! Did your friend accept? I wonder how many spots they're trying to fill.
  22. Do you mind me asking what "likely" you were rated? I have a friend on the waitlist for Portland (:
  23. Congrats you guys!!
  24. Where are you on the alternate list? I agree it's a personal preference and will really vary on the person. I decided on OHSU as my top choice mainly because it just felt right. Sounds cheesey, but that's why haha I don't really have any logical explanation lol so I advise to go with your gut!
