  1. I'm still in school so I can't answer most of your questions. But I have found the NANN website (which I love) and if you sign up for the email, they will send you at least weekly emails that have current happenings, research articles, evidence based practice, and upcoming events. Best of luck!
  2. @adventure_rn, BSN, RN Even though I'm not the OP, I just wanted to thank you for your reply! You gave so much information that is invaluable to those of us wanting to go into the NICU and it honestly helps more than you know. Good luck, OP! I hope your experience goes well ☺
  3. Thank you so much!
  4. Hello, all! I am currently a junior in a nursing program and am desperate for any and all information regarding life as a neonatal nurse. I already understand what it takes to become one, I just want to hear your stories! Someone recommended I job shadow, which I plan to do (especially since I won't ever get exposed to it through clinicals). I honestly just want to hear all about your best and worst experiences while working. What is a typical day like? How does it take a toll on you emotionally? How do you deal with families? Any funny stories? Any advice or anything you want to share is greatly appreciated!
  5. Thank you so much! I will definitely look into that!
  6. You wrote this so long ago, I doubt you will see this. I just wanted to let you know that I appreciate nurses such as you incredibly. I am a junior nursing student and will never step foot into a NICU as a student. I crave more information about neonatal nursing but all I have been exposed to are well babies/labor&delivery/postpartum. When I ask nurses what it is like, I just get told that it is emotional/hard & some have even told me straight out not to do it. It's so disheartening because the whole reason I went into nursing is to become a neonatal nurse and I know so little about it.
