  1. I would recommend looking at the following books: Test Success : Test-Taking Techniques for Beginning Nursing Students. Fundamentals Success: A Q&A Review Applying Critical Thinking to Test Taking (Davis's Q&a Success Saunders Comprehensive Review for the NCLEX-RN® Examination: (use the book for practice questions) Get a planner review the material BEFORE you go class. Good Luck..You Can Do!!!

Congratulations! !!!! I will see you this fall at SCC (NC). :)I am 41 and excited to change careers.
  3. I am in a similar situation. I start the ADN program Fall 2016. My tuition is covered however, I am trying to figure out other options to cover the cost of living. My husband and I are finding ways to cut back. I don't want to use student loans or credit cards however, it maybe a temporary solution with a great outcome in the long run. I have to leave a great paying full time position. Here are a few suggestions: Look into cost of living scholarships, home health positions, working as a sitter, work study, or look into working from home options (exm medical transcription). We are going to get through that tunnel. Please try not to stress. WE GOT THIS!!!!!

Congratulations...I found out that I got accepted into the Fall 2016 ADN class at SCC. The waiting game was brutal. As soon as I stop focusing on the acceptance notification, I received my acceptance email. I am excited and nervous because I am starting a new career after retiring from 21 years of military service in the HR field. "To all new nursing students, we got this!"
  5. Please do your research in your state. I graduated from a medical assistant program in AK with a 4.0 GPA. I thought I could find a job that paid well like AK and work while in nursing school. My husband and I got stationed in a different state. I could not find a job as a MA. When I applied to an ADN program and was told non of my credits from MA would transfer. So I took a CNA course. I wish I would have saved time and money and not taken the MA course. I just found out that I was accepted into a ADN program 2016 Fall program. Now I am debating on taking a CNA II course in order to work part time in the hospital while in school. So please do your research. Good Luck!!
