is nursing right for me?
I've been in that trap of trying to please my parents with my career choice. I say- it's your life. At the end of the day, you are the one that has to live with your choices, so if nursing is not for you (I think you've had enough semesters to know), get out now! Don't worry about they think because it really doesn't affect them (aside from the financial aspect). Find something you are passionate about, and invest in that, never mind the debt as long as your parents are willing to support you. Ideally it would be something that will help you to pay off your debt. Or plan b would be just to find something to be independent for the moment until you've decided what to do. This at least will prevent you from digging yourself deeper.

Specialty hunting!
So I'm getting closer to graduating from my BSN nursing program (grad in dec 2018!) and i'm looking at summer internships. I am interested in psychiatric, obstetric, and pediatric nursing but I am having trouble deciding where I would like to get my feet wet first. My thought is that I will work in the area (as a care partner or through internship) that I want to work in when I graduate so I can have some experience. Currently, my plan is to go into labor and delivery nursing, get my SANE certification, and become a Women's Health NP. Or, if I decide that isn't for me, instead of becoming an NP, I will transition to mental health. I did really enjoy pediatrics when I had my clinical there too, but i'm unsure. I honestly can't decide which specialty I like best though! Thoughts?

Nursing school acceptance?
I don't directly know anyone who has been accepted. On the college's website, the only thing it says about applicants is that they will select them based on GPA. It could very well include other things, but again, i'm not sure. I will definitely apply elsewhere, but I wondered if there were any indirect programs (such as a bridge program) in case I can't get in anywhere. Thank you for your feedback!

Nursing school acceptance?
Hey, I just found out that the nursing school I have applied to has a really low acceptance rate. My parents aren't willing to spend money on me if I get behind a semester, so i'm looking at possible back-up plans. I don't have any loans or debt yet, so that's good. I am a sophomore in college who will have basically all pre-reqs completed by the end of this semester, with a 4.0, and in the honors program. But, i've been told that isn't enough sometimes. Any suggestions/stories/experiences? Thanks! (I applied for the bsn-rn program)
