  1. So I finally graduated nursing school! I did well on my exit HESI exams and took Hurst and Kaplan during my last semester. I didn't really like Hurst or Kaplan so I decided to purchase UWorld. I do at least 100 questions a day, sometimes more depending on how confident I feel about the material. However, I have been going system by system instead of randomized. I go through the rationales and take notes on things I need a refresher on. Any system I get less that 60% I "remediate" and read and take notes from Saunders. Is this okay? I recently was talking to other people from my class and they all said that people that do this will fail? So of course now I am freaking out. I tried to take a randomized test but most of the answers I had already seen and could remember the answer, so restarting my studying probably isn't the best option. Thanks for your help!
  2. I felt that way when I first started my nursing program..Now I'm about to graduate and feel way more confident. Now that the light is at the end of the tunnel I cannot wait to be a nurse! Unfortunately not everyone has it that way, do what you think is best and don't worry what other people will think about you. Ultimately it is your decision..Your time and your money! Maybe try going to school to be a surgical tech?
  3. Hello! I am a current student at DSN! I know the reviews can be kinda scary...but if anyone has any questions let me know! I personally love the school!
  4. I'm feeling really down..I failed my psych HESI pretty badly last week, this week I got an 824/82% on my med surg HESI (technically failed because we need a 78% AND 850). When I study for my HESI I do 100 practice questions each night for about a week, I read the green HESI book and look through the purple Sanders NCLEX book. I now have to retake the HESIs on top of 5 other exams...I was hoping someone would have some study guides, ideas on how to study or anything! I can't really redo the same practice questions because once I see them I memorize the answer! PLEASE HELP ME!
  5. so I would do 1mL/15gtt X 20gtt/minutes?
  6. I'm not really sure where to even begin. I though I would multiple the mL by the gtt and then divide by 60 minutes. But i'm not sure where the drop factor comes into play
  7. I'm having trouble with this homework problem. Any help would be great! The doctor orders 500mL at 20 gtt per min. The drop factor is 15. How long will the IV infuse? If the infusion started at 6am, when will it finish? Please show me how you get the answer instead of just the answer. Thank you!
  8. I'm not sure where everyone else went to school..every school I looked into was $55,000-$60,000. I'm in the same boat as you, my loans are $56,000. I know some states offer programs that will repay your debt. In Colorado there is a program that will pay off 60% of your loan if you work in a rural hospital and then an additional 25% if you work a third year. I would look into programs like those.
