  1. I'm not really sure what you're trying to achieve going off topic with traveling scare tactics but I do already have a travel tax accountant who specializes in travel nurses who file taxes pertaining to traveling, LOL. As I already said, I already have that part figured out so I'm not sure why you're fixated on that. And, as I already said, I physically traveled away from my home 6 weeks ago, but I maintained that home in a compact state until last night. So, no, I haven't been working without a valid license.
  2. I have a new tax home, I have a tax accountant, that's not related to my question. My question is related to licensure only. As I said, I physically moved 6 weeks ago but I can no longer keep my previous tax home due to issues with the landlord, that's out of my hands. So my question was more pertaining to specific licensure process with south Carolina, any leeway or grace period that anyone is aware of, those sort of things.
  3. Alright so, I was renting a house in the compact state that I'm licensed in, Missouri. I decided to start travel nursing and went for my first assignment in a compact state, South Carolina. I've been here for 6 weeks and now my housing has fallen through from Missouri. My permanent residence will now be my parent's house in Kansas, which is not a compact state. What do I need to do? I would figure get a temporary South Carolina license for the last 6 weeks of my assignment, but am I allowed to keep working while I'm doing that? I'm under contract with the hospital so it is important that my work isn't interrupted by this. And I'm needing to start looking for my next assignment, thinking Texas, which adds another layer of oh crap. Lol. Help?
  4. Thank you for replying so quickly! When you say go to the BON, do you mean online or actually go there? I've checked on the site and I couldn't really find anything. But I'm not wanting to go there/call there and stir things up. And I know they have my right address because I had to fill that out whenever I submitted my response. Plus, I got their investigatory letter, I just haven't ever gotten anything since my response to that.
  5. I was terminated and reported to the BON in June 2014 for inaccurate documentation and received a letter informing me of the investigation about a month or so later. I got a lawyer, responded by the deadline which was in October 2014. I was able to get a job a month after my termination and had it for 1.5 years and now just started doing travel nursing. It's now been 16 months since my lawyer sent my response and I've never heard anything back. When I check on nursys, everything looks good, my lawyer said she's never heard anything... How long does it usually take to hear back? Or do some people just never hear back? I don't want to call the BON because I'm honestly just hoping it got lost in a pIle of papers somewhere. I had only been a nurse for 3 years, it was a dumb mistake to chart something that I didn't do, and I will NEVER do it again. It's just always looming in the back of my mind that someday I'm going to get a letter telling me my career is over even though I've moved on to such good things now. Anyone have any experience with this?
