Getting more wound care Experience.
Hello everyone. I've been a nurse for a little over 2 years and I have been working with Hospice. Today I interviewed for a position at a wound care clinic. I loved the staff and the clinic setting and would be so excited to work there. However, I got the impression they wanted to fill this PRN position with a more experienced wound care nurse. So my question is how can I get that experience they are looking for that would enable me to be a more suitable candidate in the future? I'm very interested in this speciality but I feel at a loss as to how to pursue it. Thanks for any thoughts.

BSN and Associate Nurses Are Neck and Neck. Will This Change?
As a new grad that's been job searching for 4 months I agree. The hospitals and staff say they are so short handed, yet here I am a new grad with 3.9 GPA 1st time Nclex passing potential employee willing to work nights and weekends with a stable 16 year previous job history and all I hear are crickets. Now I'm nervous to incur more student loan debt to get my BSN as I have had such a tough time in this job market. It's very discouraging!!

Health Services Admin vs BSN
It's a bachelors level program with courses geared toward health and human services administration, with the focus on public relations, compliance and security, human services. I am thinking possibly it would give me more variability in the long run

StaRN internship program?
Thank you that has been very helpful. I haven't quite hit the job market yet. I am now ACLS certified so I hope that will help get me in the door somewhere.

StaRN internship program?
Hi everyone. I'm a new RN grad and have finally begun my job search. I would love some feedback on the StaRN internship program. A nurse I met in my clinical site could not say enough negative things about this program. She basically equated it to a mandatory prison sentence with no way out. She stated that she found the program to be very stressful and not at all supportive of her needs as a new nurse. I would love to hear the feedback of others regarding this program. As a new grad I am eager to find a work setting where I can get the support I need to best help my patients and myself. Thanks everyone!
