STCC nursing 2017
Hi Ladies! It was nice hearing more abut the program today. What do you think if we make a STCC Nursing class of 2019 facebook group to ask questions and stay up on information through out the next couple years?

Any advice on must haves for nursing school
Thanks for all the great advice so far it is so helpful! As I'm sure all of you went through it all just seems a bit overwhelming right now. I did get a nice planner. I have been looking at stethoscopes and will definitely get a Littman one. Do you think the Littman Classic III will be sufficient for nursing school? I can't currently purchase any of the books I need as I'm not sure which ones we will be using. I go to an orientation next month where I will get a list of the books I need. Another question that I thought of was what kind of school bag do you all use? I currently use a 31 Retro bag but was looking into getting more of a backpack style. Thanks a bunch for all the help!

Any advice on must haves for nursing school
Good Morning! I have recently received my acceptance letter from the top school of my choice! I have been told the first semester of nursing school can be quite expensive so I would like to take the next several months and try to buy things little by little. We have an orientation in May that will go over which books we need but is there anything that you would recommend that I get now. Any advice on things that made nursing school a little bit easier would be fabulous! Thanks!

A&P2 and Microbiology
Hi everyone! I'm looking for some insight. Classes started this week for us. I'm a stay at home mom to 3 children for background. I do not work outside of the home. I had originally planned to take A&P2 in the fall and micro in the spring but have been told by the community college that I plan to apply to that I have to have A&P2 and micro completed before applying to the program in February for fall 2017. So now I'm looking at taking A&P2 and Micro in the fall. They will be the only two classes that I take. Has anyone taking these two classes together successfully? All I get is negative feedback. I certainly don't want to set my self up for failure. I have until Monday to drop one if needed. A&P2 meets once a week for lab on Wednesday evening and Micro is tues and Thursday nights for 3 hours. What's everyone's opinions on this? All feedback is greatly appreciated!

STCC in Springfield ma
Hello, I'm looking for some recommendations for anyone that attended STCC. I'm currently taking classes there now. I'm trying to figure out my schedule for the fall semester. I was planning on taking A&p2 and anthro. Then taking micro in the spring. I'm trying to fulfill requirements for AIC as well. I'm looking to apply for the nursing program in fall 2017. Would I be better off taking a&p2 and micro together this fall to have all my pre read fufilled before February? Just looking for advice and suggestion. I'm not too thrilled about taking two sciences.

BSN and ASN
Thanks for your response. So the BSN program I was referring to is a 3 year program as I would be entering with all my pre requisites done. So about 45k-50k It still seems like so much money. Going the community college route would be about 27k and then the cost of a BSN program. I'm just trying to figure out what makes the most cost and time sense. My husband put it this way people pay 45k for cars these day paying that off would be do able.

BSN and ASN
My goal is to get a BSN as the local hospitals here prefer a BSN or are sending the current nurses back to school for there BSN. There really is only one local college to get a BSN and it is a private college costing around 35k a year. With scholarships I would be paying about 15k a year. I'm sure I could get a ASN for much cheaper at a community college. So I'm wondering how much a RN-BSN program usually costs? How long are the RN-BSN programs? Also wondering if it has been heard of that hospitals would employee you as an ASN and help with the cost of the BSN? Sorry for so many questions paying over 50k just seems like a lot to swallow which would be on top of my 7k from taking my pre requesites.

A&P2 and microbiology
Thanks for your responses! A couple girls are taking them together and I thought maybe I should. I was going to take A&P2 and anthro and then during the spring public speaking and micro. I have already taken statistics thank goodness that was torture then again math is not my thing.

A&P2 and microbiology
Hello, I'm currently finishing up A&P1 during the summer course. I was planning on take no A&P2 in the fall and micro in the spring. it was brought to my attention that I could take a&p2 and micro together for whatever reason I thought you had to take one before the other. Has anyone taken both of these classes together? Is it doable? Thanks for your input.
