wanting to do CNA training online but apparntly having trouble?
I took mine online. It was a hybrid. All the lecture online and lab meeting once a week for 8 hours and then two weeks of clinical. It was much easier to find child care for me to do it this way.

Anyone ever have to address the "choking game"?
Most of the time when I've dealt with it it's been with the auto erotic aspect and they are masturbating and things go wrong. We deal with the death investigation

keep my LE certification??
Thanks everyone. I will probably keep it for the next few years. Although I know in my heart I'll never go back to full time policing. I think the hospital is going to carry it for me. And I'll fill in for hospital police when they are short.

How do people feel about male nurses?
My son in the hospital for a month after he was born. One of our favorite nurses was male. I pumped breast milk for my son and I was in the middle of pumping when the bag needed to be changed. Without batting an eye the male nurse turned to me and asked if I could pause the pump and give him what I had so far to put in the bag. So I unscrewed the container and handed it to him still warm from pumping. He was a great nurse.

This stuff only happens to me!! Subpoea to testify for state in a criminal case on 1st day
Before you started down the nursing school path I was/am a cop. For 13 years. Call and ask if you can be put on telephone standby and tell them how much lead time you would need. Most DAs are understanding. They can usually shuffle the schedule to get you in on a better day. Ive gotten hundreds of subpoenas. Always on standby and usually never appear.

If I don't get in?
What about clinical research? Drug trials? Many companies like quintiles and such take biology majors to handle their trials. But thinking positively you'll be in nursing school!!

keep my LE certification??
This will probably be a new one. I'm currently a sworn law enforcement officer who is completing pre nursing requirements for a career change to nursing with a preference for Emergency Room or Pediatrics. I got my BS in Biology with a minor in Genetics but then fell into a career into Forensics and have done homicides, meth labs, dealt with substance abusers, sexual assaults, abused and neglected children and then more homicides than I can count. But my heart is still in the healthcare field.....Prior to law enforcement I also did diagnostic testing for genetic disorders in pediatrics and worked closely with our Special Olympics kids So heres my question....Do you in the Emergency room see any reason for me to maintain my law enforcement certification or could I let it lapse?? Its very time consuming and a department must agree to carry your certification as a reserve deputy and you work around 24 hours a MONTH for that department for FREE.... I guess my question is would you see that certification be of any use in a hospital setting?? I could see myself becoming a SANE nurse one day seeing that I've had sexual assault victims on the criminal side of the equation. Thoughts, Questions, Concerns??
