Several have posted conflicting accounts of the organizational costs of attaining magnet status. Can anyone cite a source? Thanks... in in my experience, magnet is not a panacea. If you have leaders who value nurse input, you will have happier nurses than otherwise, magnet or not. As a nurse manager, I do not believe in having nurses work for free. If it's worth doing, it's worth paying someone to do. I felt this way before and after magnet, my practice did not change. I still have to balance my productivity, hat hasn't changed.
