  1. EXACTLY how I feel right now. Thank you!
  2. I have a question. I took my LPN boards in Virginia in 2005 (I signed residency over to VA) and became licensed in VA after my husband was transferred there with the military. I kept my license current and applied for licensure by endorsement in the state of California in 2008 as my husband was getting stationed there for his next duty assignment. CA-BON accepted me and I signed my residency over to California once we became stationed there. I have continued to keep my California license current since 2008 but in 2010 my license in Virginia expired and I didn't think much about it until recently. I suppose I thought if I was not planning on living in Virginia ever again (we retired in California) I did not need to keep my license in VA current. I did not put it as inactive either though, it ended up expiring. Should I have kept my first nursing license from VA current or inactive no matter whether I ever went back to that state again? Just curious if it invalidates anything in any way since that was the original state of licensure where I took my boards. Hope that makes sense. Thanks for any info or feedback on this.
  3. HI! I worked as a school nurse and in public health in Fairfax County VA when we were stationed in the DC area, then we PCS'd to Vandenberg AFB in California and I worked as an LVN for about 12 years in SNF/LTC, obtained a BS in SOcial Psychology from Park University during that time, then lectured and taught lab and clinical as an LVN instructor here in California and went back to my place of work in LTC after my husband retired from the AF last June. Now I'm hopefully going to begin my RN! :) I had to take the PN predictor for this particular merit based program BUT other Cali programs require the TEAS instead.
  4. Well I sure hope it works out for you and you get into the cohort you hope for! I am in Lompoc so a bit closer to LA- but still; if the cohort location changes to anything farther I would probably reconsider. Again good luck to you!
  5. I just applied for that program as well-woohoo! :) Is the clinical portion in LA at Cedars Sinai? Sure wish they used the Cottage Hospital System near Goleta/Santa Barbara-I am only about 45 minutes north of SB! There are quite a few RN's in the hospital system for which I work that are finished their BSN or Masters through there as well and they seem to really like it. I was kind of thinking the commute for clinical might be daunting but you know-its better than being on a darn community college waitlist for three years or more; it seems to take forever to get in in my area!
  6. Is this for WGU Pre-BSN Licensure in CA?
  7. Don't be surprised. This is the business we are in and the customer (patient) is always right. This includes the patient family member(s) as well. When I was a nursing instructor I always told my LVN students to be mindful of that in their nursing practice.
