I only applied to 2nd degree. Sorry, I know that doesn't help! The anticipation is the WORST!

FYI, I got my acceptance letter in the mail today, so they are out! I should note that I live in Ypsi, so the letter didn't have to travel very far. Didn't want anyone to worry if they didn't get theirs today :)

I applied for the 2nd degree program and haven't heard yet. I assume the decisions will be sent out at the same time since the application deadlines were the same day. I feel like they usually send decisions in mid-June, so we should find out soon. An email I got from the program office said the cutoff for last year was 443 for regular students and 427 for 2nd degree (the cutoff is much lower b/c most applicants have a bachelor's degree from a different school, so they aren't getting EMU points for prerequisites taken in pursuit of that degree). When I met with the office, they said the cutoff has been getting higher every year. For the two of you whose points are in the 460's, I'm sure you're in. I have 445 and feel secure about getting into 2nd degree, though I'll be declining admission b/c I got into UM, which was my first choice. Good luck to everyone!

Yeah, you should be good since your parents both live here! It doesn't sound like anyone has gotten an email. They haven't sent admissions decisions to people going for their first degree either. They're really taking their sweet time! I heard we'd find out last week, this week, Monday, Tuesday or today...frustrating! If you do call tomorrow, please report back here ASAP! :)

Based on this link (Residency - Office of the Registrar), there are a bunch of reasons why they would determine you would be an out-of-state resident (such as living or working outside the state of Michigan any time in the past 3 years). You have to provide evidence in one of the ways listed to demonstrate residency eligibility. Did you move here for work? If you've been employed here full-time, then you should be good. I moved here for my boyfriend's job. They list moving for a spouse or partner as a valid way to establish residency, so hopefully I'll be okay even though we aren't married. I haven't been accepted to any other schools yet, but I applied to Eastern Michigan's accelerated program. They admit people based on a points system. I have 20 more points than last year's cutoff, so I feel secure that I'll get in there. I'm not that psyched to go there though--I really just want to get into UM!

No, I haven't A kid in my Patho class said he heard they were sending decisions yesterday (though he applied to the transfer program for a first bachelor's degree). All I've gotten recently is a message about my residential status (I applied as in-state, but b/c I haven't lived in Michigan long enough, I have to provide some other documentation or pay out-of-state tuition).

Did anyone else get an email late last night from U-M (subject: University of Michigan Application Received)? It looks like they entered some application data into Wolverine Access so you can check your application status on there. I feel like this must mean we're about to find out!

You guys... I think I'm going to die from the anxiety of waiting before they actually send out admissions decisions On the plus side, I've been extremely productive in an attempt to not just stare at my Gmail all day. My apartment has never been cleaner.

Me too! I've emailed with them this week to give them my grades for the semester, but all they've said is "admissions decisions will be released shortly." I am dying to find out!!!!

I got that email as well. There was a thread on here for the last cohort in 2014 and the first person who responded to say they'd received an acceptance email did so on April 30! I would certainly think we'll hear this week--hopefully early in the week. I've been compulsively checking mine lately as is. If anyone hears anything, please reply to this thread as soon as you can to let us all know!

What exactly did they ask? Were they unclear on how/when you were planning to complete them? I actually talked to them recently about my prerequisites (although I initiated the conversation) b/c I had to change something on the prerequisite form (just where I plan to take Pathophysiology). If it makes you feel any better, I am currently taking A&P, Organic/Biochemistry, Developmental Psychology, Statistics, and Nutrition, and am registered to take Patho, Microbiology, and Family Communications over the summer. So I'm missing A LOT of the classes at present! I went to an info session in November at which they said it didn't matter if you hadn't completed all the coursework, so long as you had a plan for how to get it done. My situation is on the pretty extreme end of that, but I'm keeping hope alive. I have all A's in the classes I've already taken, as well as the ones I'm taking now (a fact that I managed to slyly slip into my essay, but they'd have to just take my word for it). I dunno. I waiver between feeling like they'll see me as a super great candidate to feeling like I haven't completed enough coursework for them to give me serious consideration. The good news is that they consider everything about applicants and don't just use an overly simplistic points system like some schools. On the bright side, they did email to ask you something, which has to be a good sign. If they thought you sucked, they probably wouldn't bother!

Nothing yet! I haven't wanted to be that guy who bugs them for info, so hopefully they stay on the same schedule as in the past. I didn't apply until just before the deadline (in spite of a long period of planning) b/c I compulsively revised my essay 1,000 times. The good news about that is that now I'm not excessively anxious about finding out b/c I haven't been waiting too long since submitting my app.

Hi! I went to an info session in November. The last cohort had 48 students, and they usually get around 300 applicants, if I recall correctly--pretty low acceptance rate! It looks like in 2014, people found out at the very beginning of May. Fingers crossed we hear sooner rather than later!

All of this? Exactly why I'm going into midwifery. No woman should have to put up with this. And in regards to the specific mentions of poor (and excessive pain-inducing) treatment by male doctors? Exactly why I don't think men should have a place in women's health. Maybe that makes me sound like a misandrist, but sorry, not sorry.
