  1. Hey! Yes I applied too, I think with either 159 or 160 points (that darn C in microbio lol) so hopefully that’ll be enough to get in right away! I know they do end up accepting a lot of the alternates usually too but would rather skip the anxiety of that? I just hope either way we’re not waiting long for some answers. I need to know when the orientation date will be so I can schedule my shifts and other plans accordingly since I know that it’s absolutely mandatory to be there. Thanks for starting a new thread for all of us!!
  2. Okay that makes a lot more sense. Thanks!
  3. Hey all hope everyone's been having a good summer! One more week:) Does anyone know if we're suppoSed to wear our scrubs on that first Wednesday? Or are we only required to on clinical days? Wasn't sure if anyone caught them saying anything about that during orientation, I'm not even sure if they went over it or not.
  4. Yes, Jpeters, Ms. Shell called me a day or two after orientation to tell me I had officially been accepted!
  5. I also applied with 157 and was alternate #23. I'm sure you'll get your seat! See ya this fallí ½í¸‰
  6. I have schedule A as well :)
  7. Got my acceptance this morning!
  8. It's going by pretty quickly so far, I can't see them keeping us for too much longer. Probably be out by 3 (at least I hope so). I started as alternate #23 and I was instantly disappointed of course. Being only 4 puts behind the initial acceptance, I was expecting thinking to be so much higher on the list! But I guess since they've already accepted the first 18, making me now #5 I guess I'm a little bit more optimistic now haha. Anyone here part of the group of 18 who got accepted this morning? If so, congrats!!!
  9. Everyone ready for orientation tomorrow? I'm certainly ready to see where I am on the alternates list! The background check is all we needed to have done beforehand, correct? What else should we/are we supposed to bring with us tomorrow?? Can't wait to meet you all!
  10. Oh and as for the blackboard thing, I'm thinking that the "next in line: 1" announcement is referring to the alternate that will receive the next open spot when and if one becomes available. I'm sure in the weeks following orientation as more alternates accept seats that do become available the number will keep going down the line as a way of letting us know where we stand. But I don't know I'm just guessing. That would make sense though and be convenient for us and advising too. They probably got tired of all the alternates harassing them with frantic emails and phone calls and thought "okay we need to do something about this"
  11. I swear you are reading my mind today, Mrslaflin!! Right after I posted that earlier and thought more about it I thought of those possibilities too:yes: I'm sure you will get your spot within the first week after if not at orientation, but as for me I feel like I will most likely be waiting much longer. I will say this though. I'm really mourning those 8 extra points I could have had from my TEAS right about now! I was only 2 points away from the extra 20:arghh: And unfortunately I didn't have the extra 30 days to try and retake it before the deadline. Did anyone apply to other schools programs and get accepted? I'm curious just because I had looked into doing that a while ago even though Wake was always my first choice, but every other school I had looked at required completely different prerequisites. So I didn't really see the point but I'm just wondering if there is anyone who did, how did other schools point systems and course requirements compare to Wake's?
  12. I was just wondering about that myself! Alphabetically maybe? Who knows lol. Hopefully they answer our hundreds of questions during orientation and if not we can just ask someone after. I'm also hoping a lot of alternates will get a spot at the end of orientation or shortly after like I've read on previous semesters. You'd for sure get one of those spots with one point behind! I'm praying I'm near the top too with 157 so I don't have to wait too long for a spot, if I get one that is:cautious:
  13. I got mine too. I saw that but then right before the letter said we won't receive our ranking until orientation... so I'm confused lol. Maybe they mean that's where we'll be able to check our ranking after?
  14. Same! I still think as high alternates we stand a pretty good chance. Just more waiting and anxiety of course haha
  15. Hey Abby, sorry to hear that but with those points you'll be good to go for next semesters admissions for sure. Did anyone receive an alternate letter today? I just got home and still nothing. Now that it's just a matter of day to day, the waiting is even worse! So hopefully we will all have our answers by the end of this week. Preferably tomorrow lol
  16. Does anyone know who I can directly contact in the nursing department to find out more? Ms. Watkins can only tell us so much and I find it kind of screwy that there seems to be no one else we can reach out to for more specific answers or information. At least that I'm aware of and I've been trying to figure out who I can talk to but don't even know where to start :\
  17. Exactly. Am I the only one who wishes they had some sort of automated engine online that could tell us our actual points when we apply? So then at least we wouldn't be stuck worrying later on that we somehow did something wrong. It's kind of weird how they don't ever actually tell us what THEY calculated our points at, since from what I've been told they do it manually.
  18. Let's hope for today! Anyone out there receive alternate letters yet? I haven't heard of anyone getting them, only acceptance ones. Hopefully none of us are part of this group, but it would also be nice if they notified those who got denied completely so at least no one would be left wondering... if I still haven't received anything in tomorrow's mail I'm going to go up there and find out what's going on because I don't know who to call who would actually know and be able to tell me anything.
  19. Nothing today either I don't think it was a post office holiday though, I didn't even think of that. But I am second guessing everything now! I even recalculated my points during my lunch break today, and the only thing I might have misinterpreted were my points for ENG112. Long looong story but a lot of things happened the semester I took it and I ended the class with a D. My worst and only grade lower than a B, at least as far as any of the prerequisites. Anyway, I ended up taking ENG114 last semester instead to make up for it, as I was told by three different advisors that it could take the place of 112 and I made an A. But no one could tell me if because it was technically a different course the usual 5 point deduction rules would apply for the original grade since it was meant to take its place. So if it did I may have applied with five points shyer at 157 points and not 162. I know that was probably confusing but hopefully someone gets it and maybe has some kind of answer or insight for me? Either way, I have been up and down and over every part of my application a dozen times and that's still the only possible reason I could come up with for not getting immediately accepted. Which unless our mail around here really is just that delayed I'm starting to think I wasn't. But I still am confident I'll be an alternate even if I am those five points behind. It's possible they send out the acceptance and alternate letters at separate times. Who knows:o I really think they need to come up with and work out a better system for the following semesters. Relying on "snail mail" alone just leaves too much room for human error
  20. Congratulations, shadowtale! What were your total points when you applied?
  21. Hello, hope you all are having a nice Easter! Hopefully I and everyone else who's still waiting receives some kind of news by tomorrow. To Mrslaflin and NUCUnurse, do you both live in the Cary area as well?
  22. Anyone else receive their acceptance letters today? I was really thinking I would get mine today but no such luck and I'm so on edge thinking about it now... I wish there was some other and more efficient way we could check the status of our applications online or something. Oh well.
  23. Congratulations!!! I also live in Cary/apex and still nothing came for me today. I'm starting to get really discouraged now:sorry: if I added up my points correctly at 162, and 161 point totals have been accepted, I just don't know why I wouldn't have received anything by now if other people living in the same area have. Even if somehow I miscalculated my score it would only be by a few points so I should at least be an alternate even if that were the case... the waiting game is driving me crazy. I just want to know either way already! Anyone living in apex/Cary area or further from Raleigh receive acceptance letters yet? What were your point totals if you don't mind? Just trying to get an idea of what to expect. Thanks everyone in advance and good luck:cat:
  24. You're probably right. I'm gonna try hard not to worry about it too much and see if anything came in the mail today while I was at work. I've already waited this long so a few more hours should be nothing;) congrats again to everyone for getting in and hopefully I'll be seeing you all at orientation next month!
  25. Hi coneal, congrats girl!!! So exciting. Do you remember what your total points ended up being? If I added mine up correctly they would have been at 162, and if you did end up being at 161 as you said previously I would think (hope) that means I've been accepted as well though I haven't received a letter yet and now I'm getting nervous thinking something went wrong and maybe I didn't do the math right? Although I must have done it two dozen times lol
