  1. Wow chill. I certainly never said I blamed my teachers. Blaming the counselor would be asinine but in my experiences I have been told to get various counselors opinions on educational goals because they tend to suggest courses rather haphazardly. Where in my post did I "blame" life in general or teachers or what ever you're on about? What even. I am asking for suggestions on where a retake of the chem class can fit in a already busy on pre reqs schedule till Fall semester. Get off your high horse and quit trying to shove your self righteous perspective down peoples throats where it doesn't belong. All I care about at the moment is rectifying that bad grade.
  2. Ugh I was wondering why I had such a horrible feeling all day today. It took my professor over a week to put up finals grades and lo and behold I got a D. 68%. Two' percent away from a C. The part that brings me to tears is the fact that the general chem course I took was an intersession class. A normally 16 week course compacted into 4 :/. Thanks @ my counselor for suggesting it to me -_- Essentially took chem for a whole month for nothing. I can retake it and just do better(a C probably wouldnt have looked better anyways) since the part that really tipped my grade was missing a huge extra-credits worth of points the one day I got too sick to even get out of bed. Nice timing to get sick right. Anyways not to be too hung up over it, I learned a lot about what I can handle and how useless I am on little to no sleep in terms of study habits and 4 week crazyness. Its a 4 unit course and as far as my pre reqs go, I have physio and stats in the spring, micro in the summer and supposed to apply for nursing in the fall. My plate is full, no clue where to fit a retake of chem anywhere there. Any suggestions? I guess the blessing was not getting a C since my school doesn't allow retakes for that. Crazy hard class.
  3. Wow this thread is a goldmine. Building an amazon list to keep check of all these things needed and helpful for the future. Can't find sleep or more hours in the day on Amazon though lol.
  4. He found my exam!!!! I got a B in the course! I knew i wasn't insane! I'm so happy I can continue my dream of being a nurse is all I ever wanted and sole reason for even going to college. :) Oh and he apologized.
  5. First, Sorry if im reply-spammy or not using this correctly Second- I have begun writing down the events and such, going to be tracking down or contacting some lab classmates I know of. I wasn't exactly a social butterfly during the course, unfortunately so I didn't have much friends there, maybe like one or two people but that's all I can go on account of. In any case Trying to get all these things together should I need them in the future for reference, proof, etc. Thanks for all the help again!
  6. All the Exam questions were the same version. The way we turned the exams in at the end was he had like 4 separate piles for each lab day(m/t/w/f labs), and one other pile for the exam questions paper. Scantrons were to be put face down, for obvious reasons of no one seeing the scantron answers and stuff written on them. I had stood near the table for maybe 5 seconds putting the exam questions down on their place and then looking for where to put my scantron. Thats when the TA reached out to my scantron since he was collecting them from the heaps of people showing up to turn in their stuff too.
  7. He said the F was because on his syllabus he "expressly" states that a final exam "no-shows" are automatic F's in the class. Hence to imply that I "didn't show up". And since final grades were submitted, I think, it's already all in the system. He's so quick to give F's apparently. I'm saving all these emails and I keep contact with a lab buddy. I simply can't understand how he or the TA(Who I had handed the scantron over to because he reached for it to collect it when I was at the professor's desk to turn in my finished exam.) loses and can't find a 100 question sheet of a scantron with my name on it, lab day&time and subject fields filled in. I dislike the fact that he expresses his email like he wants to take his sweet time looking for it, its MY grade and MY career. Time is not something that I have because my spring '16 semester registration date has come up so I can't continue my pre-reqs with Human Physio. Effectively ruining the education plan my counselor had set out for me to apply to nursing school in the Fall of 2016. *Thank you everyone for the comments and input, this situation is rare and new to me. I wouldn't know how to navigate this issue, all I want is fair grading of whatever I earned for the course.
  8. So I went to the campus to try and find the dept. of Biology Dean, but since finals are over most of these 'important' people are off on vaca. The F is showing up in my transcript already completely ruining my gpa. I had the secretary of the Bio dept. leave the professor a voicemail. I emailed him asking for a in person meeting to resolve this. This is his response "Your presence to sort this out is not required, so there will be no in person meeting. I will give a 2nd look for your exam later this week, Thursday, most likely Friday. I will let you know." I have proof I was in class that day on final, The professor handed back our takehome-assignment homework and I was there in class to get my hw and take the final. I sent him pics of the homework, graded and all as proof. Not really sure what to do now. I don't intend to let up on this mistake since it's costing me a lot.
  9. Like hell I am. Hes going to find it or get out of teaching.
  10. thanks for all the comments. As of three hours ago I got an email from my professor. He lost my exam. Am currently fuming.
  11. Hi, Im new here and Im really confused about this situation. I took my Human Anatomy pre-req at a CC and finals finished on 12/09/15. Its been ~4 days now and theres been no update on my final grade/final exam grade on my blackboard portal account. The problem is when I log into my school's portal it shows my grade for the semester as an F. When I check my grade on blackboard my grade isn't an F, its a mid C. (was hoping the final would push me over to a B). Now I know my grade can't go from a C to an F unless I just plain didn't show up for the final exam. I tried emailing professor and of course he's out of his office till February. I contacted a lab classmate and she had her grade updated with finals and all within 2 days after our final. Should I wait longer for an update or take it up with the school cause there's a huge grade discrepancy? Advice please. *Additional note: My final exam grade on Bb isn't updated, it says "upcoming".. which implies it's yet to be graded.
