  1. @Nurseyj I wouldn't think so. I'm sure many of my colleagues weren't at level 1 centers. I can only speak to those I have interacted with thus far through the virtual classes LOL, but since I had the minimum amount of experience I think factors like that just helped to affirm what they might look for.
  2. @Nurseyj Hello! I'm in Estiles' cohort. When I interviewed, I had just shy of one year of experience in the ICU and spent a year in the PACU prior to ICU when I was a new grad. I know multiple nurses had similar stories of 1-3 years of ICU experience. That being said, those I know with limited experience did come from strong level 1 academic medical centers, myself included! IDK if there is any preference for a specific ICU. Traditionally CVICU, MICU, and SICU are most common. However, we do have one student from the ER, one from the NICU I believe, as well as a few from PICU. Barry doesn't really discriminate based on the unit as long as there is critical care experience in your resume.
  3. @janelkallie When I interviewed, there were 8 interviewers (dean of the program, multiple heads of campuses & clinical, professors of varying topics as well as a current student. Half were in person, and half were projected via zoom/skype due to location. Not sure how they'll do it now with the pandemic. Questions for me were 95% personality/life questions with a twist, e.g., teach us about something that isn't medicine related or asking to describe my background/resume and choices that led me to CRNA, etc. I do know some colleagues were asked hard-hitting clinical/medication questions. Between us, not much difference in experience/background, so I'm not sure how they decide who gets asked what. Good luck to anyone with an interview!
  4. @MansaMurse I scored a 303 total: 152 verbal (52nd percentile), 151 quant (41st percentile), 5 on writing (92nd percentile). From what I heard with people who had to retake theirs, school wanted at least a 300 overall and 30th percentiles. GPA: BS 3.3, accelerated MSN: 3.9.
  5. @MansaMurse I know 90% of people joined the fb group by late February, but I’m not sure how many were waitlisted
  6. Hello all, I was admitted to the class of 2023 and just wanted to say I applied without my CCRN, PALS, or my updated Chemistry and was admitted contingent upon completing them prior to matriculation. I took the transition to anesthesia course offered by Barry and completed the other two shortly after interviewing. Best advice I can give is to get your app out there ASAP! A few people were admitted contingent on improving their GRE scores as well. The majority of us found out on Friday a week after our interviews. The latest acceptance was in April from a student off the waitlist. There was a total of 1.5k due within two weeks of an offer to accept the spot and 1.5k due two weeks after that, so plan accordingly. Good luck!!
  7. @bubbles123 Doesn't seem like you have paid the program fee/deposit idk if I missed that. They gave admitted students 2 weeks to pay the first half of the deposit and then an additional 2 weeks to pay the second half. I would hope that after 2-4 weeks when some people decline admission from your round of interviews you might have some answers! Which campus did you apply for? I would email them with pending dates for your test/start for the chem class so that they see you're moving forward! Good luck!!
  8. @jagman1337 Hey, we do have a fb group titled 'Barry University CRNA Class of 2023'. There's a question to answer when you join the group and all students of all the campuses are welcome to join once admitted!
  9. congratulations @CCRNCalifornia! We have a facebook group for admitted students called Barry University CRNA Class of 2023 if you want to join!
  10. I also heard back the following Friday about 4-5 pm via email. I was only asked one question regarding a medication but the rest were personality based questions. Been a nurse 2 years.
  11. @ReginaphalangeRN Interviews for some campuses are complete and others are a few weeks in. I believe someone mentioned they applied to Tampa but admissions said it was closed already, but I’m not 100%. Each campus has a pre-determined number of seats and it varies between them. For example I think last year Tampa has like 8 and Hollywood had around 18. However, you don’t get assigned a campus until after you interview...you apply, are invited and at that time you can ask what campuses are open. At your interview you hand in some paperwork and one sheet includes your top two campus choices. Upon acceptance you are assigned one!
  12. @candycrush890 It’s a group titled ‘Barry university CRNA class of 2023’. PM me if you still can’t find it and we can exchange names!
  13. @Justlikehaldolpropofolversed I made a facebook page for those who will be joining the class, figured it'd be nice to meet some classmates! It's titled 'Barry University CRNA Class of 2023' let me know if you can't find it.
  14. @candycrush890 thank you!! I passed my CCRN yesterday so that’s done. I need PALS and they informed me at the interview that my chemistry is outdated by 6 months (so close!). So I’ll be taking the transition to anesthesia course online this January to meet the requirement!
  15. Just got the email, I got in to Hollywood!!
