I am 43 and taking my Pre req's to get into Nursing school. You are as old as you allow yourself to be. By the time I graduate I will probably be close to 46.

I am taking A&P I this Spring 2016. Did anyone have Professor Small? Plymouth Campus.

I am currently working on pre req's so I can get into nursing school. With that, I have been a medical secretary for over 14 years. If the office manager is calling you staff, she needs to be reminded that she is also only staff. I have never worked in an office where any NP is considered just staff. All of the NP's I have been so lucky to work with are always on the same level as the MD. Most of the patients would rather see the NP. The NP's are always and have always been the first line of defense to help out patients. Seems like the office manager should be reminded of that.

Thank you. I am going to try and cut back to part time. When I put it down on paper, I will be at work M-F 9-5, then the program I am going into is either M-F 7a to 3pm, or nights 3p to 10p. Becoming a nurse is too important. I will figure once I get through it, I will find a better job and it will all be worth it. Thanks for the supportive comments.

First, Thank you for your service to this country! I want you to know this is only a hiccup in life. Before you know it, you will see this is the best thing that has happened to you. If you are at home with your parents that means you hopefully have a great support system. I am 43, divorced, happily divorced and a single mom and trying to get through my pre reqs so I can get into nursing school. At first it was horrible to go from being married to having to move back in with my parents, but.... I have the best support system with them. Also, I think being single through this time of my life is awesome! I am only focused on my son and myself. All of my attention can be on him and getting through school and work. You can do this, you will do this, do not talk yourself into worry. You made it through deployments!!!!!! You got this 100%.

I am just curious what some of you have done. I am 43, back in school right now at Quincy College Plymouth. I work full time, I am a single mom and honestly worried about the full time job and trying to complete the nursing program. I am still finishing my pre-reqs and I have to take the TESA before I can be accepted into the program. Not sure if I should go down to part time at my job so I can go full time days, or do the evening program. With the day program I will be home with my son and I won't have to worry about not seeing him at all. I do have family to help me with him, but I don't want to never see him. I tried to do this 6 years ago at Cape Cod Community College but the time away from him them had a big impact on him. I was only doing pre reqs at that time as well. Just sharing and asking any advice. I want to be a nurse and I have been waiting to do this for a long time. Just worried about not ever seeing my child, the amount of work and trying to work a full time job.....
