  1. Our nursing staff is planning our own "nurses pampering day party" and we all bring a gift or bag of pampering gifts. We can spend any amount we want but most I think are around $50. I was on the QVC board and the ladies were raving about the GoSMILE- it's that tooth whitening ampoule that you brush on. I saw it on the view and started researching it. Here's the thread on it http://community.qvc.com/thread.jspa?threadID=600020552&start=0&tstart=0 So, I was thinking about getting some GoSMILE, some lotion/creams, bubble bath/oils, candles. Does this sound like a nice pampering gift or do you think a massage or dinner gift certificate would be nicer? I know it depends on who it is, but I'd love some feedback. Thanks. We want this to be real special and we are going all out for eachother
  2. Our wound clinic threw unna boots out the window. We've had much better healing rates with 3 or 4 layer compression if ABI's are okay.
  3. Until we have removed the cause of pressure, nothing works too well. But, Panafil we've seen the best results with.
  4. Is that all you used was vigilon? What type of wounds were they? Thanks!
  5. I appreciate your reply. She is a non smoker. I work in the wound clinic and yes a CWOCN is on the case as well. She has had a dietician consult and no diabetes. Her wbc's are low. We have her in 4 layer compression and she's on cipro. When she goes off of the other abx, doxycycline (spelling..sorry?) the edges of her wounds get more red and angry. They are about .2-.5 cm deep and the length/width is about 3x5cm. The bed used to look like hard, beef jerky, but after the dermagraft we thought the bed was improving a bit. She wonders if it has anything to do with the fact that she is a hair stylist for 30 years. She's very independant and feels fine other than these leg ulcers. PLEASE if anyone know anyone we can talk too, please let us know! Thank you so much. We are desparate.
  6. Has anyone had a patient who was a hairstylist for 30 years and now has non healing leg ulcers medial and lateral malleolus. Have tried dermagraft, aquacel AG, debridement, 4 layer compression, non stop antibiotics, the vac for only a few days because the pain was too great. Anyway, we can't get them to heal. Any suggestions? Not overweight, non smoker, has had many tests done and still no answers. Please help!!!
  7. I work in a clinic and closed on weekends...don't have to deal with that junk anymore!
  8. Hi, I have a patient who needs help with her wounds. Leg ulcers near ankles that are not healing. She doesn't know who to turn to or where to get help. She is independant. We would like to post her photos somewhere, I realize we can't do it here, but does anyone know of a website where we can allow many people to view the photos and tell us if they've seen anything like this? Please help!
