I am a current NIU student who has applied to the nursing program for the fall 2016/spring 2017. From my knowledge, they take 100 per semester. 30-50% (from what I have read) are transfers. I was told the average G.P.A. of those accepted was typically a 3.7-4.0, but it varies from year to year. They also take into consideration how many pre-requisites you have completed (need a minimum of 5 to be considered)

Hello to all nurses! I am currently a freshman at Northern Illinois University and I have already submitted an application for the 2016-2017 nursing program start date. I have a current G.P.A of a 3.85 and I will be finished with all my pre-requisites (except 2 general education requirements) by the end of this semester. I feel confident that I have a good chance of getting into the program and am a little nervous thinking that I will be starting my core courses next semester! I'm only 19 (look younger) and it is a little concerning thinking teachers may try to intimidate me. I wanted to know if anyone has any advice for me. Additionally, if anyone has graduated from NIU's program, I would like to know how some of the courses are! Thanks for your tips!
