Air Force nursing FQ FY 2018
Hi! I just began the process of applying for the Air Force Nurse Corps. I am currently in the Army Nurse Corps on the reserve side and was under the impression that I will need to go through MEPS again since it has been 2 years since my last visit to MEPS. My recruiter told me that there are new guidelines and that I will simply need to have a DA 3349 Form completed stating that I am "worldwide qualified" in place of going through MEPS. I asked him who would complete this form and he really didn't know. He said I was the first applicant to have this option. After looking at the form, I realized it is the Physical Profile form. I have never had any condition requiring a profile and I'm not sure this form will help me avoid MEPS. Does this sound a little fishy to anyone else? Has anyone else been given this option, and if so who do we have fill it out. Thanks

Army Reserve Reclassification Bonus
I know that the 66S and 66E nurses that have recently joined my unit have all received 75k bonuses for a 3 year commitment! I don't know if it's the same coming from IRR or reclassifying while on active reserve status. I will definitely talk to the recruiter. With my luck I will get an OR job, get all the hours, reclassify as a 66E and the Army will no longer be offering bonuses!!! So, when they contact you, how do they try to entice you back from the IRR without a bonus??!! That's crazy that they wouldn't be offering an ER nurse a bonus...

Army Reserve Reclassification Bonus
Hello! I am currently a 66H Medical/Surgical nurse in the Army Reserve. My eventual goal is to reclassify as a 66E Perioperative nurse. I thought I heard somewhere that once you reclassify in the Army Reserve you may be eligible for a bonus for that specialty. Is this true? And if so, what is the process for ensuring I get the bonus? Thank you!

Is there anyone out there applying for a 66H slot for the Army active duty nurse corps FY 2018? If so, do you know how many slots there will be? Thanks!

Army Perioperative Nurse (66E)
williams84, BSN, RN So scrubbing in is not part of the training for army generic course guarantee for 66E? Also, are you assigned to an FST?

Army Perioperative Nurse (66E)
I originally wanted to go active duty but the spots were limited. I joined the reserves because I wanted to get started in the military and the army took me despite a health concern that needed a waiver. I guess I didn't really have a preference for which branch I served in. I am currently a 66H or med-surg nurse because that is my background, however, I was interested in changing specialties if I ever had the chance to go active. Periop nursing seemed very interesting to me. How do you like the OR?

Army Perioperative Nurse (66E)
I am a recent comission as a 1LT in the Army reserve and new to this board! I have been reading posts here for years now and they have been extremely helpful in guiding me towards a career in the Army. I know I will have many questions down the road but my first is related to Perioperative (66E) nurse in the Army. I am interested in eventually going from reserves to active duty and would take the 66E course in periop nursing if I had the opportunity. Is it true that Periop nurses in the Army do not scrub in but mainly circulate?
