UNE SRNA 2020 COHORT
Hey @csrn2017 the thread titled "university of New England CRNA (2018)" has great advice from people that have graduated from the program already. I think all the general advice for CRNA school applications is helpful. I know it's a long road, but it will pay off. Don't get discouraged throughout the process. I think the hardest part of the process is not knowing what to expect, but just put the time in preparing and you will do great. Best of luck!

Hi everyone, thanks for setting up this thread. My name is Tip, I’m from Kailua Hawai’i. I’m excited to meet everyone, dive into this new adventure and experience my first New England winter! Is there any area in Portland that you guys would recommend for housing? I was just going to look for anything within close proximity to campus. See you all soon!

@Sara D. Hi Sara, I just got an interview date for UNE. Aside from reviewing medications used often (down to molecular level) and working on common CRNA interview questions, is there anything else that you would recommend doing to prepare for the interview? (without disclosing anything about the interview process specifically). Thanks!

UNE CRNA 2020 Applicants
Hi @Robin185, Im getting ready to apply next month to the program. There is another thread on here with a lot of great info on the program, and one of the people who posts (Sara D. I believe) is currently a student. She has been incredibly responsive to anyone posting with questions. I would reach out to her, she's been a great resources for me. It looks like class sizes are around 20 and according to the statistics from the CRNA schools website there is a 40 something percent acceptance rate. Im not sure what year that data is from though. I would reach out to the program administrator and ask. I have reached out to them a few times and they have been incredibly helpful. PM me and I can keep you posted if I find anything out.

Thanks @Sara D. Ok, based on your feedback, I will definitely continue on with the general chemistry. Did you find the chemistry/pharmacology harder than the advanced physiology/patho? Thanks again for all your feedback, and best of luck with the rest of your clinicals. It must be so fun to be using all the knowledge/skills that you've been working so hard to learn. I can't wait to be in your shoes!- UNE O-Chem Final Exam
Thanks for all info you guys post. Im looking to try and take this class after I take the biochem class. How many hours per week did you find you had to study? And did you take the entire 16 weeks to complete or sooner? Also, how impossible would this course be to take without the full year of gen chem prior? I know the concepts build on the foundation, but did you find that you would not have been able to take it, had you not taken the year of chemistry prior? Or would it have just required more studying? Thanks!- University of New England CRNA (2018)
Thanks for the heads up!. I actually contacted the school to see if I could attend the biochem 1005 course without taking the full list of prereqs, based off of portions of courses that I have taken over the years that covered some chem. They said that would be ok. Im hoping to start this summer. Any tips of being successful in the Biochem 1005 UNE online course? - University of New England CRNA (2018)
