Relocation packages?
I am looking to relocate to another state in September/October of this year. I have found several hospitals that offer relocation assistance and sign-on bonuses. I have accepted sign-on bonuses for several positions in the past, but have never relocated before. I realize that each organization does things a bit different... but has anyone taken a relocation bonus for a new job that would be willing to share your experience? I am wondering if the relocation bonus assists with up-front costs like first month rent/security deposit, moving expenses - or do these items get reimbursed later?

Your ER policy on giving rides home
I work at a very rural Critical Access hospital. We do not have a bus service. Nearest taxi can come from about 20 miles away and costs about $70 for a ride. Also no Uber drivers in the area. We are several miles from town on a busy highway. Occasionally we are able to talk the local police department to take patients home on the night shift...but there are only 2 officers on patrol and they cannot always do this for us, and they will only give a ride within the city limits. On day shift, there is a community transport van that is available to be called. One of the first things I ask the patient is if family is coming, and if not - how do they plan on getting home. I routinely discharge patients to the waiting room with a warm blanket to sleep until morning.

MSN but can't get a Management position!!??
Hello All Nurses! I have found myself in a bit of a predicament and was wondering if any of you lovely people have some advice. I have been an RN for 11 years and worked Telemetry, Pediatrics, ICU, Charge Nurse, back-up Nursing Supervisor, Case Management for an insurance company and now in ER. I finished my BSN 2014 and MSN for nursing administration in 2016 (while I was working for insurance company). Initially, when I finished my degree I obtained a promotion to "Team Lead" - which is an assistant manager position. Unfortunately, this company went out of business, and I was forced to find another position (about 1 year ago). I interviewed for several Management and Director positions but was not chosen for the positions. Eventually, I accepted the ER position that I am currently in. I have now started applying for Supervisor and Manager positions within my current Organization (which is fairly large and has multiple campuses in the region). I thought for sure that I was going to get the last position I applied for. Unfortunately, someone else was hired for the role. I am not sure what I am doing wrong! I have the required experience and education for the positions that I am applying for. I am a member of the ANA and my states' Nursing Association. Not only am I not using my degree, but I have my student loans on deferment due to having to take a very large paycut when I left the insurance company. Any suggestions/advice?

Nursing uncertainty
There are many non-bedside options for nurses. Case management, chronic disease management, utilization review... Many health insurance companies and managed care organizations hire nurses for these positions, even as new grads

MSN Executive Practicum - Chamberlain
I am in the MSN Executive track with Chamberlain College of Nursing and am getting ready for my Practicum in the spring. It was difficult to find a preceptor- but I finally found someone, so I will be working with the Director of Operations for a clinic which is part of a large health system. My problem is trying to figure out what to do for my project ... I am really struggling with this. For anyone who is in an executive program, or has graduated from one- what kind of projects did you do? Or for executive nurses- what kinds of projects would you look for a student to do? I don't want to totally take someone else's idea, but I am in need of some suggestions!
