  1. Hi Everyone, I am currently a nurse (BSN) working in the ER for the last five years. I spoke with a national guard recruiter yesterday, he states I have to enlist and then go to officer candidate school. Are there not direct commissions in the national guard? I just feel like he is not giving me the full story. Any help would be appreciated!
  2. Wow I think that's fantastic! I went the opposite way (EMT, Paramedic to RN). I honestly have not clue about the course you have to take, but I bet you could challenge the EMT-B course, and probably do an abbreviated Paramedic course. Honestly the hardest trasnsition will be having to manage scenes and adapting to the environment of the call. Good Luck! Leigh P.S. I would also contact your state's EMS agency, they can point you in the right direction~
  3. Hi Megan, I am currently in the BSU program, and I am not particularly happy. Finding preceptors and sites has been the biggest challenge! If I had to do it all over again I would have found a program that finds your clinical preceptor and sites. Also, I am finding learning online very challenging! There is a lot of reading, but very little teaching done. They are starting some live lectures for students, but it is just in the beginning stages. Hope this helps.
  4. Hi Everyone! I am super late to the game! I just submitted my application about 4 days ago for the ENP program. I do not think my chances for admission are great, but hey! it's worth a shot! Now the waiting game begins! Congratulations to everyone who was admitted! L.B.
