  1. Not sure if my last comment posted-- but I am a traveler and Cali is notoriously difficult to become licensed in. Anywhere from a few weeks to 9 months. The BON runs very behind there. I would have a back up plan!! Good luck!
  2. I've been a nurse for 7 years, 4 on med surg and 3 in critical care. I'm burned out and needing a change. I'm wondering if any nurses have successfully transitioned from ICU to ER. Thoughts? I'm OCD, but find myself able to let go of knowing every detail about the patient when it's appropriate. Part of what is burning me out is feeling very little like I'm helping people improve. ER seems exciting, I like the idea of turning over patients(or just not spending 12 hours with the same two, zzz:sleep:) quickly and getting some of them better and home. Thanks for your thoughts!!
  3. I worked in ICU at Trinity Mother Frances as an RN making 25.00/hour. I had some LVN experience and 1 year RN experience on a medsurg floor. Unfortunately they don't offer a weekend or night diff. But it's a great place to work, a really great group of nurses work on the Neuro ICU. Spine and Joint has a wonderful reputation as well, I know some periop nurses there. Everywhere is pretty comparable as far as salary, certainly low when compared to Dallas, etc. BUT- keep in mind that cost of living is significantly lower as well. I love Tyler, hope you get out there!
