  1. Hello Maryann, all I used was Uworld...just focus on Uworld, it's very similar to the Nclex. I never touched the Saunders book at all, what I did was I only focused on Uworld and did like maybe 50 questions and read the rationales for the ones I got right and the wrong ones...if there's a word you don't understand, Google it. When taking the practice tests on Uworld don't over do it with like let's say 80 questions...just stick to 50 set of questions everyday. When you are 2 weeks away to take nclex then you can take 80 questions and you'll see the difference in your scoring, you'll probably say...well I already know the answers cause I'm getting the same questions, but remember you'll know why that's the answer, DON'T MEMORIZE Tha answers, KNOW WHY IT'S THE ANSWER. If in the beginning of Uworld your getting low percentages in your scores, don't worry and don't get discouraged...I had them too very low scores as a matter of fact, when you get to Nclex and your sitting on that chair of course you'll be nervous, it's normal, but I promise you when you see the style of questions on it, you'll be happy you just focused on Uworld. Best of luck if anything let me know.
  2. Sorry to hear about you not passing the first time, but dont worry...at least you know now what to kinda expect. If Kaplan didn't work for you, just focus on Uworld...you'd be surprised in the similarities on the content. Uworld was the only study source I focused on, just try it out, & you can thank me later:-) Alot of other people were throwing me different things to study and I felt very overwhelmed, so I said to myself let me just try Uworld see what happens. Let me remind you I only studied Uworld 2-3 hrs a day, but read the rationales!!! Uworld prepares you with Delegation, Priority questions for example... What client would you see first, which client would you put by themselves in a room (isolation) U will do great the second time around if you just focus on Uworld, but you have to commit yourself in studying the rationales I can't stress that enough. Please let me know if you read this, and if you have a question I'll try my best to answer u. Have a good day.
  3. I'm in Texas.
  4. We are 3 lvns total... I will have training and let go on my own till ready. I don't have experience with clients who are ID, the lvns who have worked they're also started freshly new at this facility. They're maybe 40 clients in this facility that I will be responsible for when I'm on my own. The majority of them are very well stable, just a few diabetic dependant patients, I'll be the only lvn on these trips with the clients.
  5. Hello fellow Nurses, I'm just writing wanting to know if I made a good decision on my career as a nurse. I will be starting my new job soon and wanted to know if working at a place for intermediate care facility for Intellectual disabled clients, is good for a new graduate. I had my interview yesterday and my boss will be starting me at 17 dollars an hr, also she asked me if I wanted more, but I didn't want to sound greedy, so I settled for 17. My boss also mentioned to me that if I ever needed some adjustments on my pay to let her know, she seemed very sweet throughout the interview, so I basically praised her, for being such a sweet person and making my interview as smooth as possible. In this job I will only work Wed & Thursday and every other Friday double shifts with 5 days off or 4 when I work fridays. I was also told some days I'll be taking my clients to the beach, zoo, movies and other amenities etc for their enjoyment. I basically just wanted to know if I made a good decision and if 17 dollars is good for a new LVN grad. Thank u
  6. Great Job, Congratulations!!!
  7. Best response I ever got from a clinical instructor was, "treat each patient like they were your loved ones." Worst: "I can't believe you made it this far, and I mean that in a not so good way." & that's because I got to my clinicals 5 min late, but I thank her for saying that...I'm punctual everywhere I go now, 15 min early.
  8. Did u Pass??
  9. Use Uworld...you won't regret it.
  10. Thank you and you'll be fine, just focus on the rationales, right or wrong. Goodluck if you need some help on something let me know, I'll try my best to help you out.

  12. Don't know of you saw my reply, I'm fairly new at this.
  13. You know, to be quite honest when I first tried Uworld, I was bombing tests left and right lol. In the beginning Uworld to me was very difficult, as you can see I was scoring 42% and other times I went as low as 38% but as got going on the program and reading the rationales it kinda flowed afterwards, it helps u find the correct answers. Now regarding your question about Uworld or Nclex difficulty...Uworld was alot harder, but like I said it prepared me so well, that I saw Nclex kinda easy. Hope I answered your question. Just read the rationales and understand them, if don't know something Google it, find out what it is. Goodluck if I can help with anything else let me know.
  14. Please do check it out, you wont regret it. Uworld was my only study source, I passed Nclex with 85 questions. Uworld is very similar to Nclex. Read my article that I wrote for great inspiration.
  15. 42% overall after 3 month subscription and passed with 85 questions on May 21, 2016. Read all 1300 right and wrong rationales after finishing Uworld questions.
  16. I also want to add that when I started using Uworld, my score percentages was in the 40-45% which is pretty low, but as soon as I finished all 1300 questions of the subscription, with a final score after 1300 questions at 42% I went over all questions and read it's rationales and retook the exams and my score went up significantly to 55-70% probably cause I already knew the answers, but I also understood the rationales. If u have any questions let me know, I'll try my best to answer you.
  17. First off I want to share my story, I'll try to keep it short and simple, well I started lpn school on Aug 2013 I failed out 3rd semester, so I decided to go back and finish what I started, 2nd time around I hit the books harder and graduated on Nov 21 2015. While in school the second time we had an ATI exit exam to see where we were at, well to my surprise my Nursing director called me into her office and literally told me I had a 20% chance of passing the Nclex-pn based on the ATI results. I didn't know what to do, I was speechless and disappointed with those results, good thing that ATI test didn't count against us. That school I went to went ahead and scheduled our Nclex Pn test date and I had 1 month 1/2 to study for Nclex. I was so scared because of what my director told me, so I rescheduled my test on may 21, 2016. OK so I will share with you the way I studied for it, (remember I only had a 20% chance of passing) Uworld Uworld Uworld!!! I got the 3 month subscription and studied here and there, but for sure did 25-50 questions 4 times a week, I only spent 2hrs a day on those 4 days. Let me tell you something I read those rationales & learned things I didn't learn in school. Read those rationales I can't stress it enough, if you don't understand a word Google it. Well test day came along and I said to myself you got this, this is what you went to school for and sacrificed yourself for. I sat on my chair and blocked everyone out and earplugs in place with headphones on top of that, I could literally hear my heart beat. Believe this when I say this Nclex is very similar to Uworld, I went through those questions like I had already done them, but that's what Uworld did, it helped me prepare especially the rationales. My test stopped at 85 and I had like 13 SATA, 1 dosage & calculations, I could swear on my life I got the 85th question wrong because I looked it up afterwards in my car, so if your test stops at 85 and u get the last one wrong it doesn't mean you failed, so DON'T THINK THAT!!! Well got my results today and I Passed :-D. I also went to my directors office and showed her my passing result and she was amazed. If anyone reading this are barely taking Nclex for the first time or any other times please follow what I said, & you won't regret it. Thanx to Uworld I passed it & of course prayer. I read St. Joseph of Cupertino prayer before taking the exam and has never failed me. Goodluck future nurses you got this. If I did it trust me you can also achieve it.

I take finals for pedis this monday and medsurg finals this tuesday and thats it im done. Its been a long road, but well worth it. I hope you dust yourself off and get back on that horse and ride it like theres no tomorrow. Best of luck
