  1. Yea I also got that email a few days ago! I do not have my cna, just shadow experience with multiple nurses, a nurse practitioner, and a neurologist on top of a lot of volunteer work. Also, I attended the online webinar concerning ABSN about 2 weeks ago and during that webinar Nora stated that the receive between 350-400 applicants and accept 70-75 so around 18-20% acceptance rate.
  2. I attended the webinar and I am also really freaked out by the financial aspect of it. If I get accepted I am really worried about working that part out.
  3. I know in previous years it's been March, but I plan on asking in the webinar today
  4. I hope everything works out for you too!! Hopefully we all hear something soon! If I don't get into Duke this semester I'm going to apply again next semester and I also plan on applying to UNC and Vanderbilt next semester if I'm not accepted. Duke is my first choice though so hopefully I'll get in this time!
  5. I'm exactly the same way!! I'm still waiting for two of my recommendation letters and my transcript got lost in the mail so I just had to send another. I'm an anxious wreck at the moment [emoji37] I haven't taken the GRE! I'm not sure if it would help or not! I don't know when the dates to take it are either so it may be too late, like you said. I feel like it definitely couldn't hurt an application unless you don't do well on it. If I don't get in the round, it may be something I consider doing to try to boost my application to apply for the spring 2017 class.
  6. Hi! @adairfletch I haven't heard anything about having my GRE waived and I know that my GPA is high enough so maybe they are waiting to do that? I know the website says anyone with below a 3.0 has to take the GRE, as I'm sure you know lol, so I think if it's above that then you don't have to take it. That's what I'm assuming at least.
  7. Last year they heard back on the first Friday of March. I'm not sure if it'll be the same this year or not.
  8. Oh wow! You're applying to a lot of places! Is Duke your first choice? And I agree about the excitement/stress!! I have no idea how I'm going to wait until spring to find out if I'm in!
  9. As of now, I'm only applying to Duke. What about you?
  10. I did have to completely rewrite one of my essays, but it turned out much better because I did so.
  11. For my essays, I sat down and wrote them all out over the course of a couple of days. Once they were all completed, I had a couple of close friends proof read them to see if they portray me well and if they seemed up to par. Once they both gave me their feedback, I had a professor proof them before I submitted them. I was extremely nervous about the essays since it is really the only impression we get to make on the acceptance committee since there are no interviews.
  12. My GPA could be better, but I have completed all my prerequisites. I am a senior and I'll graduate with my first degree in May. I'm from Arkansas!
  13. I submitted my application for Fall 2016 a few days ago! I am just waiting for Duke to receive my transcripts and recommendations. Any one else finished their application yet?
