CHLA RN Residency March 2020
Thanks for making this! I’m actually not a new grad, but I’m applying to the transition fellowship in October we and wanted to see if anyone else would be interested in starting a post for that. I’ll leave this here and see if I have any takers. Thanks and good luck!!

California Providence TIP Program April 2018
Any updates from anyone? I interviewed with Tarzana's DOU and Med/Surg Tele at the same time last week. They invited me back for a second interview this week (hope this means good news)! I also have an interview for Holy Cross's ICU. Just wondering if anyone else is interviewing right now or has heard back yet. Thanks!

UCLA New Grad Residency Winter 2018
I had my interview for Acute Peds today and I think it went really well. The unit directors were so friendly and we really had a conversation throughout the interview and shared some laughs as well. They were really intently listening to my stories and answers, which was very pleasant to see. The only downer of the day was having a HUGE delay in my interview time. Acute peds and peds hem/onc actually merged interviews so they could share candidates and float them between units as new grads. That being said, only one person interviewed with both UDs instead of one UD interviewing one person at a time. Our times got backed up and I ended up waiting three hours to interview Once my time got around it was great and totally worth the wait. I was sent to the unit to interview with the charge RN, clinical nurse specialists, and some staff nurses and a care partner. I think it went really well. The UDs said they'll have their decisions made by Friday. Peds is only hiring 6 people total and we should be finding out within two weeks from now. They said if I don't hear back by then to call HR. HR is the only contacting us, not the unit. Good luck to all of us!! We can do this!!

Most of the people I've spoken to get these questions: - tell me about yourself - why (the unit you're applying for) - why nursing - what are your strengths (i always like to have 3 prepared) - what are your weaknesses - give an example of a time you experienced conflict and how you got through it - what is your proudest moment in nursing/nursing school - if you bring a portfolio, they ask questions about it or they poke through your resume and ask about that Hope that helps! Good luck!

UCLA New Grad Residency Winter 2018
I interviewed for the last cohort (unfortunately didn't get hired then) and the process is pretty similar for all of the units. Everyone interviews in the Wilshire Building (separate from the hospital) and most interviews are about 15-30 minutes long with 2-5 staff (unit directors, supervisors, charge RNs, etc). Some units will invite people to tour the unit and continue the interview (but getting invited sometimes is a courtesy to all interviewees rather than a selection process, so it doesn't mean you have a better chance or not) but not all units do this. Only very few actually do. Some units choose to hold second round interviews, some do not. As far as questions do, they're primarily behavioral and situational questions, but some will throw in basic clinical questions (ex. priority, delegation, next steps). Hope that helps! :)

Not that I know of. Both my friend and I applied and interviewed but haven't heard yet. When I spoke to the UD last week, she said "around the beginning" of this week. Grr!!

UCLA Summer 2017 RN New Grad Residency
I interviewed with NICU at the end of May and haven't heard anything back. I received a phone call today to interview with Perinatal. I didn't realize they were still interviewing, but glad to know I'm still in the running! I was starting to feel like they forgot about me in either units. Anyone heard anything back from NICU or perinatal?
