  1. I am a new grad, so I am just starting out with orientation and classes. I have toured the unit and I like it. Managers say it can be an overflow of any types of patients really. Since pts neuro status can change from anything. Some stroke, some tele and a mix of everything. That will depend in your hospital too. I am not in NY. I will do my first long day this Friday and I will let you know! Honestly, you dont have to be stuck in neuro. It might even open doors to you in the future. I had to choose between 2 offers too! It is hard deciding. Look at your goals, where you fit better and where you think is more exciting. Even though a floor might be hard, it is always a great experience.
  2. Hey! Sorry for the late reply! I did get an offer, but I chose to get a different position. How is it going? NCLEX? Take care!
  3. You are the same with me! I had another offer at a different hospital, but I stayed with this one. If you don't mind me asking, what state is that hospital in? I am just starting!
  4. Yeah! It might be this week since February 15 is going to be coming up and theres paperworks to do. Let me know if you hear anything and I will let you know too ! :)
  5. Yes! Did you hear anything from them yet? When did they say theyd call?
  6. Dignity will hire new graduates and train them on the floor, but they also offer the new grad program like every 3 months to do an actual residency program with extra orientation training. So, you can apply for the new grad program every few months, or try to apply in specific positions online too so maybe you can start and train right away. So yes, different hospitals offer different things.
  7. They start a new grad program every few months.
  8. Yes! It is only every few months they do it. You gotta look at dignity careers website.
  9. Hello new friend! I live right by Mercy and have family members who work there! Some in OR too! Haha! Well, i heard that a new grad who was a CNA and has a BSN started at 26.80 at Mercy as a new grad recently. Let me know if you hear anything else and how much is it in Iowa?
  10. Oh thats good! I did kaplan and passed the first time in 75 questions. I just answered all their free questions. But I also answered a lot of saunders comrehensive book resource. I looked up anything that I forgot. Youll be good! Let me know how this interview gets and also the NCLEX! :)
  11. Im sure you did well! There was a lot of them so I was like...ohhh crap! I almost said Indidnt have an answer for one of the questions. Then they restated it and went deeper so I got to give them a situation and stuff. They were nice though! Also, what school did you go to? Did you do Kaplan?
  12. Yeah, I was also overwhelmed at first when they were explaining the process and the pages looked like a lot of questions. What happened when you asked them to start over? Dis you start over just with that question or starting the whole interview? yeah....preparations for interviews are always good but they ask it different way and it can catch us out of nowhere! I prepared for case scenarios and diseases and they didnt ask about those at all. Did they ask you? Also, how are you preparing for NCLEX?
  13. I had my interview today. It was pretty good. It wasn't as hard as I thought it would be, but still an intense moment. I didn't even ask about pay rates, but did your friend ask that? or are you going to? Also, what school did you go to? It took awhile for my diploma to get to the boards, and then maybe a little bit over a week I got the ATT.
  14. Oh thank you! What other places have you applied at? Also, do you know the starting base pay for the new grads at Chandler Regional right now?
  15. Yeah that's true. Do you know if they ask case scenarios? thanks!
