New York University (NYU) ABSN fall 2019
I do! Did you send your transcripts to their Admissions office to transfer credits?

Yes they did. They don't expect anyone to make their decision without viewing their financial aid info first.

New York University (NYU) ABSN fall 2019
Hi Jana, I did, I got accepted on April 4th and my financial aid arrived on April 19th. I wasn't planning on making any decisions without knowing my financial aid status. I submitted my financial aid a few days after submitting my application.

I got accepted on April 4th and my financial aid arrived on April 19th. It arrived after my decision deadline so I reached out to admission who extended my decision deadline.

No you should get another email from admissions. I received it almost a week after my decision was made. I didn't even get the your NYU Decision is ready email, I found out that I was accepted because I randomly checked Albert. You don't have to accept admission to get that email...I think if you're in NY and deciding before schools, accepted students night is very helpful.

I couldn't agree more! I think a good essay and references definitely help. I also don't think it is necessary to have a medical background.

I was accepted to Pace and NYU. Pace is cheaper and faster, but their simulation lab was very small compared to NYU. Also, their clinical sites could be anywhere in the tri state area. I didn't want to commute super far for clinicals. NYU labs were very nice and their students had good feedback. The program was created so that the subjects align and students understand and apply the materials better. Both schools are great, but I always wanted to go to NYU. A lot of NYU students that I met were able to have a part time job, when I had my interview at Pace they said working during the program will be really hard. ABSN programs are all very intense, you won't have any flexibility in your schedule because the programs are so short. They create your schedule for you, so I am not sure how would someone be flexible in this sitiation. Which schools are you deciding between?

For all of you who are waiting, good luck! If you have been accepted and deciding between a couple of schools or unsure about NYU, I would highly suggest going to the accepted student night. You can ask their staff and students questions and see their simulation center. I know it helped me a lot, so I wanted to let you guys know ?

Hi Jana, I think I'm going to go to NYU. I went to their accepted student night and their facilities were beautiful, a lot nicer than Pace. We got to speak to a few of their current students, they said the program is well designed and they are really enjoying it. Another concerning thing with Pace was that their clinical sites were anywhere in the tri state area, so students may have clinicals in NYP or in a hospital in Sleepy Hollow, Mt. Kisko etc. I don't drive so a far clinical site is not ideal for me. I wanted to defer till Spring to save more money, but now that i have to start in the Fall i am ready and excited!! I am waiting to put a deposit for NYU until i receive my financial award letter. They said it during the accepted student night that you are not expected to make a decision until you get your numbers, so if your deadline is approaching but you don't have your aid info yet, reach out to their admissions office.

I am in the same boat as you. I was accepted on April 4th, but I received my Congratuliations from Meyers email on Friday 4/12. Maybe this is a glitch, I am not sure. Did you receive your financial aid info yet? I didn't receive it yet, which is crazy...how are people deciding without this information?

Not yet, and I’m going crazy over it. Called financial aid, they don’t know when the awards are getting out. Called admissions, they tell me to talk to financial aid. At this point I have a week to make a decision but how am I supposed to decide without financial aid info?

Hello, Sorry I didn't respond sooner. I just posted that I am also a bit conflicted. I am deciding between Pace and NYU. NYU is my top choice, but it is so much more expensive compared to Pace. Pace accepts less students, which I prefer. I have a little more time to decide, but I am currently torn. Did you deicide on NYU or PSON? If you took Saturday classes like me, we probably were classmates :) Good luck!!!!

Hi again! SO...turns out NYU ABSN program does not allow deferring to another semester, did anyone know this? Because this is brand new information to me. Other schools are cool with you deferring your admission, but NYU ABSN program isn’t. At first I was confident in NYU thinking I can defer for a full semester and start in Spring 2020 saving more money. Another school I was accepted to was Pace, they allow deferring but their spring semester is in Pleasantville campus. NYU is obviously a better choice but it’s also much more expensive. So now I’m not sure what I’ll do and I only have a week or so to decide. I’ll keep everyone posted, any advise is of course appreciated!
